Not exactly the best first impression to give Philly. Dwight might be back to action before Drew.

Hopefully, it is just a precaution and he's ready to roll by the start of the season. I do wish the best for Drew; his knees were always a concern for me, though.

And so it begins...... in Philly that is haha.

idk, part of me is sort of glad I don't have to sleep with one eye open because I'm concerned about Drew's knees and the injury factor

76ers Will Keep Andrew Bynum Out 3 Weeks

76ers Will Keep Andrew Bynum Out 3 Weeks

Image

Center Andrew Bynum had a full share of injury issues during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers. Will the trend continue now that he’s on the Philadelphia 76ers?

The 76ers announced today that the team will take precautionary measures with center Andrew Bynum and will withhold him from basketball activities for the next three weeks in order to maximize the therapeutic effects of the Orthokine therapy he received earlier this month.

Bynum was examined by Dr. Jack McPhilemy of Main Line Health and was diagnosed with a bone bruise of the medial femoral chondyle of his right knee. During the aforementioned time frame, Bynum will continue participate in low impact conditioning drills.

The team will provide additional updates as they are available and appropriate

thats exactly why he got traded. When you need precautionary measures at 24...thats not good.

hopefully he will be fine though.

^A bone bruise? It doesn't sound serius. I think he suffered a bone bruise in the game against the Celtics last year if I remember correctly. Not sure if it's the same thing. Anyways, it just sounds like they're taking "precaution," to make sure he doesn't excerbate the injury.

This is the main reason we traded him and took a gamble on Dwight staying with us long term, because you never know when an Andrew Bynum knee is going to give out. Obviously this isn't that , it's a bone bruise and them just being cautious, but I'm saying the fear was always there in the back of a lot of Laker fan's minds.

I don't know why, but I feel like the fro makes him look out of shape when I'm sure he's not.

I still stand by my previous opinion of the fro. Just awful.

He's not out with a bone bruise. He's out recovering from the Orthokine procedure.

I know why: because it looks kind of dirty and unkept. It's like a guy who needs a haircut, you just feel like he doesn't take as good of care of himself as he should. That's not to say he's not in the gym working out, it just looks like he isn't because he's unkept.

You're right that's exactly why, up top he looks scraggly and unkempt and it makes me think he's out of shape all over when he's clearly not.

Key word: precautionary. I'll always be grateful for Bynum's contributions to the two rings won [albeit he was in less than 100%] and wishing that he along with his Sixer crew give the current East incumbents hell.

So why didn't he have this procedures in the summer so that he has time to recover? See where his priorities are and now he has to miss training camp and will be behind on things.
