I don't know, but probably Pau in the 4th... I don't remember Bynum being on the floor much in the 4th quarter when we won the last two championships. Just saying IF it looks like he's not re-signing with us.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

Once again, and it looks like I have to repeat this often, Bynum and his agent have already told the Lakers FO that they are willing to discuss an extension.

Bynum is only going to think about Dallas, Cleveland, etc, if the Lakers don't sign an extension with him. If we don't get Dwight, I sincerely doubt the Lakers won't sign the extension.

He will get the max extension from the Lakers. Pending of course that the Dwight drama ends.

he wont sign an extension though, right? because it makes more sense to become a free agent and get more money/years, ala cp3.

Life has been busy. Not enough time.

Hopefully that changes next season.

If he wants to walk next year, the Lakers should offer to do a sign and trade, I'm sure Drew would be open to that. Whatever the case, don't play it like Orlando did with Howard.

I'm ready for him to leave if he wants to go though.

Why would anyone turn down the chance to add 2 years to a contract and 48 million dollars in their deal?

New max for 12-13 for a player of Bynum's tenure is 16.4. Went up 900k.
If that holds, Lakers will sign Bynum next year at about 17+, with a total of approx 96mm for a 5 year.
Get 17!!

I think if Dwight isn't a Laker soon, Bynum will sign an extension.

Lakers To Extend Bynum?

Image

The Lakers have engaged in contact extension talks with Andrew Bynum.

"I talk to his representative more than most representatives," Mitch Kupchak said of Bynum's agent, David Lee. "He's deeply involved with his clients and he works hard with general managers on behalf of his clients. Over the last few weeks, we've had light discussions. ...

"We'll get to it sooner rather than later."

Bynum is eligible for a three-year, $60 million extension.

If he signs the extension is there an "x" amount of days that have to go by until he's tradeable (similar to how Lopez can't be traded until December)?

Its actually a very smart move to extend Bynum, taking away some of the leverage he would have from running off next year whether it's here or on another team.

Yeah I was wondering if there's a similar rule for extending a player.

It also takes us out of the Howard sweepstakes until January.

If they extend Bynum for the maximum 3 years, they can't trade him for 6 months.

The proposed ‘Carmelo rule’ has been eliminated from the next CBA, allowing players more leverage. SheridanHoops explains how players will now be able to get four-year extensions prior to being traded away:

We'll have to wait and see how Dwight's back holds up anyway as he returns.

Gives us a better chance at Howard then (if Bynum has truly checked out and Dwight is back to his original form).

Even if it's only 3 years, its a heck of a lot easier to swallow then Lopez's disgusting contract, not to mention he's essentially more injury prone than Bynum (from a non-accidental point of view) and Orlando is much more interested in Andrew anyway, they'd probably be open to a straight up trade.

If not, I'd give up Blake for Richardson and that's the where the line ends with that deal.

If we only give him 2 years we can trade him sooner.. Will be interesting to see.. I think if we got a 2 yr extension out of him Orlando takes a straight up swap
