Only if Bynum is throwing both punches. Kwame's small hands won't get the job done. He should stick to throwing cake instead.

2 additional problems. They don't have Worthy or Kareem either. And they sure don't have McAdoo and Wilkes coming off the bench.

My buddy's been calling him "Drew King" ever since the he saw the media day photo with him and Kwa-may. When I saw Rock's post I swear I thought someone had PS'ed in Don King's hair to make a point.

I just want to know what his end game is with this, 'cause......damn.

@tmoorepburbs

Bynum experienced discomfort doing a drill and stopped at that point.

He's still not cleared for practice.

76ers To Sit Drew Until He Has No Pain In Knee

PHILADELPHIA — Turns out Andrew Bynum didn’t practice Wednesday and won’t work out with the team for the foreseeable future.

GM Tony DiLeo told the large media contingent on hand that Bynum is still experiencing discomfort in his right knee and won’t participate in any basketball activities until he is pain-free. It’s unclear when that will be.

Bynum, who missed training camp and the seven-game preseason to rest his surgically repaired knees, said there is still a chance he could be in the lineup for next Wednesday’s season opener against the Nuggets. There are five practices scheduled between now and the opener, and Bynum hasn't scrimmaged since the NBA playoffs in May or played with his Sixers teammates yet.

DiLeo was a bit less optimistic.

“It’s just a healing process,” DiLeo said. “When it heals, it heals.”

DiLeo admitted the Sixers are being somewhat cautious with Bynum prior to the start of the 82-game regular season.

“I would play with pain,” Bynum said. “If it were up to me, I would play.”

Collins, whose team went 6-1 in the preseason without Bynum, declined to speculate how long it’d take Bynum to be ready to play once he gets back on the court.

“I have no idea,” Collins said. “It’s all hypothetical. We’re not going to look over at (Bynum as) a lifeline. If this team feels like we can’t win without him, we won’t win.”

Bynum, acquired in an August trade from the Lakers that also involved Dwight Howard and Andre Iguodala, had two Synvisc-One shots (one in each knee) Monday. He is scheduled to have two more during the mid-February all-star break.

Bynum apparently aggravated the knee doing a basketball drill prior to training camp.

On Sept. 15, Bynum went to Germany for plasma therapy on both knees.

Bynum, 24, was the starting center for the Western Conference in last year’s all-star game.

I feel like they're being overcautious, hes always gonna have knee pain/discomfort they just gotta do the necessary maintenance.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8546706/andrew-bynum-philadelphia-76ers-long-shot-opener
Bynum wanted so much more out of the day he expected to practice for the first time with his new team. Bynum remained sidelined with right knee pain and is a long shot to play in the Oct. 31 opener.

His debut is on hold and no one knows when Bynum will return. He will continue to be held out of all basketball activity until he is pain free from a bone bruise he suffered during an offseason workout. The Sixers had pegged Wednesday as their franchise player's potential return date after a three-week layoff that cost him the entire preseason slate. Instead, Bynum was on the sidelines while the rest of the Sixers practiced and scrimmaged.

"He's a big investment for our team," Sixers general manager Tony DiLeo said. "We want to be cautious."

DiLeo said each day Bynum is out increases the likelihood the All-Star center will not be ready for the opener.

Bynum says he wants to be cautious with his return and will not play until he is pain free. He received an injection of Synvisc -- a gel-like substance that sometimes provides relief for inflamed tissue -- on Monday. The natural substance is designed to lubricate and cushion the joint.

Bynum will then work his way back into low-impact exercises after several days of rest following the injection.

"We just have to talk to Andrew every day and see how he's feeling," DiLeo said. "When he is pain free, that's when he will start basketball activities."

No one, from DiLeo to Bynum, cared to predict just how much more time Bynum will miss. But with the opener against Denver on the horizon, and Bynum yet to practice, the Sixers are prepared to go with Lavoy Allen at center.

Bynum failed to sound convincing when he said "there's a possibility" he could be in the lineup against Denver. He conceded the final decision is up to the Sixers. He won't rush back for the first week and risk injuring the knee to the point where he'll miss serious chunks of time later in the season.

"Everything's about the big picture," Bynum said.

With a history of knee injuries already behind him, Bynum said he feels no pain when he walks, just during physical activity. DiLeo said rest should help heal the bruise and the injury was not a "recurring thing."

So I guess he's going to sit forever then? What NBA big never feels pain in their knees? I'd guess all of them have some pain in their knees all the time, they play ball and practice almost every day.
