Antawn Jamison Discussion: Cockroach

He's starting to find his way again. He looks like Antawn Jamison the statistical Hall of Famer instead of Antawn Jamison the veteran minimum player.

Another good game

Boy am I glad I was wrong about him being a bad signing, gave up on him JUST a bit too soon. His contributions have been huge during this winning, he looks comfortable out there finally, like he knows his role. Score off cuts, rebound, play d the best he can.

What impressed me most about him yesterday was his rebounding. He was HUGE on the glass yesterday. He boxed out guys like Humphries and Gorillaman and yes he got eaten a few times, especially in the 3rd, but he held his own and that was something I wasn't expecting. I thought he was going to get taken to town and he fought back.

Great effort from him. Factor in that sexy layup over Lopez in the clutch? That's why we have guys like him.

Yeah, he almost always rebounds well. Also, he juts knows what needs to be done in crunch time. Always does some weird s--- that goes in. We need people like that. If he wants to give it another try next season, I'm all for it. He's in great shape and he's also cheap.

I think it was overlooked at how efficient he could be with Steve Nash on the court.

Jamison is keen on making those flip/scoop shots. He is used to taking those off the dribble. When Nash penetrates and gets him the ball at around 10 feet from the basket, he has an even greater chance of nailing those shots.

so much hate for this guy during his early struggles......glad he's been able to prove doubters wrong, unfortunate again that it had to come at the expense of Hill

He's starting center now. It's time for Mikey to run some small ball, just like he wanted. The two pesky bigs are finally out of the way.

The worse thing about Jamison is when he is off, he really is OFF from 3. He finds other ways to score (cutting and such). He has come up with some big baskets the last few games.

So MWP made everyone forget about the game 'Twan had I guess. 3 points, 2 rebounds, he absolutely killed us out there today. Gave us nothing scoring wise, nothing on the boards, no defense at all.

i like when we use him bc his shots are so weird its hard to defend. today we didnt have a lot of ball movement and off ball movement with cutting etc. when we do that our offense looks good. jamison cutting and actually getting passed to is always good. today just wasnt that kind of game. it was kobe post up dish or score kind of game.

The other are that Jamison has been effective is as a roll-man. In fact, he's been so effective that he's ranked 4th in the league as a roll man. 1.31 PPP on 60% shooting as a roll man makes Jamison a great option in the pick and roll.

nash needs to run it with him more.

Great thing about Jamison is that he can make very weird and difficult shots, so even though the defense may attempt to stop him he can just adjust his shot.

Antawn looks like hes struggling after he tweaked his ankle again...last time same thing happened in New Orleans I think he sprained his ankle and he played pretty bad the next 4-5 games that eventually got him benched

I don't think we win this one without him tonight, his late offensive rebounds, his scoring throughout the game, even a nice defensive play.
