Deron didn't get him fired. The mediocre performance by the team got him fired.

Deron might not have gotten him fired but will get the blame especially since he questioned his scheme the other day.

Interesting fit if they could get Phil. Only problem is some of their guys like Lopez, Blatche, and Humphries aren't the best passers in the game. But maybe they'll get better at it if they learn the offense.

One thing's for sure, Sloan's not in the running. :man10: Hopefully they hire Dunleavy so we'll have one less team to worry about. :man11:

Ball dominate point guard....pretty solid wing guy in Joe Johnson. Halfway decent big man in Robin Lopez.

It would be interesting to see what he'd be able to do with such a solid PG.

They've already started clamoring for him on the radio stations here. Makes sense to me as well...

I read somewhere that Jeff Van Gundy could also be considered. .

Would that be a bleep. Dwight would want to go. To the Nets still and to play for Phil who he wanted here.

And wouldn't that be a perfect way for Phil to really stick it to the Lakers after how things went down with Lakers position.

No cap room, so Dwight's not going there. He didn't go through all this isht just to get paid 3mil.

As for Avery... Man, the two teams with the biggest offseasons, LA and Bkln, couldn't make it 30 gms with their coaches. Both Potato and Avery canned before the new year. That's the accountability on big summers and coaches apparently.

Noway Phil goes near that team. No franchise players, just a group of two or so fringe all stars(That's being generous), and a bunch of solid role players. Deron Williams is garbage, hasn't been a star in a few years, and has proven to be a cancer.

With all that said though, Avery is a terrible coach.

Avery Johnson fired. Nets will go for Phil Jackson. Dwight gets wet and bolts for Brooklyn July 2013.

Kobe demands trade. Nash has "career ending injury" game 1 of 2013. Pau returns to the low post and leads the Lakers to the #12 seed in the west. Lakers 2013 pick to Phoenix. Lakers sign Michael Beasely in the off season. Fuhhhh. Phil Jackson leads nets to the best record in the east. Dwight named 2013-14 NBA MVP & DPOY. Nets upset heat in game 7 of the ECF. Deron Williams gets possessed by Magic Johnson, and nets upset Thunder for first title in franchise history. Lakers still paying Mike Brown's salary.

Can't say I'm surprised, the team was doing horrible once Johnson needed to make adjustments. This will likely be put on Deron Williams but I think it was mainly due to the lack of wins that led to his firing. It will be interesting to see who they go after.

This. Phil is only going to come back if he knows there's a good chance he'll win a Championship with that squad. That narrows the choices down quite a bit and knocks Brooklyn out.

And :man10: at Dwight wanting to go there now. That ship sailed. Dwight is a Laker now.

David Aldridge ‏@daldridgetnt
Phil Jackson's longtime representative, Todd Musburger, tells me via text that Jackson "has no interest in the Nets' job at this time."

to be fair, both of those guys are bad coaches in very similar ways--zero creativity on offense, terrible with in-game adjustments, inflexible, completely risk-averse. good guys to coach a young team and get them to play defense. good assistants. crappy head coaches for a win-now team.

there is no way phil would even consider taking this job

like someone said earlier, he'd only take the job if it was a championship contending team which the nets definitely aren't at this point. hopefully they hire dunleavy
