Free agent guard Leandro Barbosa has reached agreement on a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics, league sources tell Yahoo! Sports.


Leandro Barbosa - G - Celtics The Celtics and Leandro Barbosa have agreed on a one-year contract, according to Yahoo! Sports.
The deal is presumably worth the veteran's minimum, considering Boston's salary-cap limitations, and it gives them another affordable veteran option, along with Jason Terry, to handle PG duties behind Rajon Rondo. Boston's busy backcourt just got even busier, to the detriment of everyone's fantasy value. Related: Jason Terry, Avery Bradley, Courtney Lee

Miami's backcourt is basically Lebron/Wade/Allen/Chalmers. So no, not even close to Miami's.

Not losing sleep over this one. The idea was to have Barbosa play with Nash, where he had his most success. Barbosa is not as fast as he once was, and truth is he's been painfully mediocre since leaving Nash/Phoenix. It was a nice thought, but we'll move on.

Good for those green douches but Terry and Courtney Lee get time over Leandro easy. He's just insurance.

Rondo >> Chalmers
Bradley << Wade
Terry > Allen (at this point in their careers, and taking Allen's health into consideration, no question about it)
Lee > Cole
Barbosa > Harris.

4-1.

I went with Terry off the bench because Rondo and Bradley used to start together, however, if Terry is starting at the 2:
Rondo >> Chalmers
Terry << Wade
Bradley = Allen (Allen is the better offensive player, Bradley kills Allen on D)
Lee > Cole
Barbosa > Harris.

3-1.

Even if you argue that Bradley < Allen, which I don't agree with, Celtics still have a 3-2 advantage..

So yeah, I would say personnel-wise the Celtics have a better backcourt.

What about Lebron and Shane? With the various positions they play a lot of people consider them to be part of the backcourt.

^Yeah, you have to factor in that Lebron is Miami's point guard. Boston's depth is nice, but there's no way you can put them above Wade/Lebron/Chalmers/Allen.

They aren't.. LeBron will be playing the 4 and the 3, and Battier has always played at the 3.
LeBron may play like a "point-forward", but he isn't part of the backcourt. More than half of his made FGs were inside 10 feet. He said he'll spend even more time in the paint this season.

No he's not. He plays like a point-forward, but I wouldn't call him "Miami's point guard". They don't have a traditional PG. Chalmers is more like a spot up shooter, kinda like Fisher when he was here and Phil ran the triangle. He penetrates more though.
LeBron spends A LOT of time in the paint, aside from his natural 3 spot he played the 4 spot A LOT, he's not part of the backcourt.
The Heat's backcourt, in the technical sense, consists of Chalmers/Wade/Cole/Allen/Harris.
