That's interesting. If he is healthy the pistons may have a shot at the playoffs.

He's going as a player??

I was sure he'd be going as a coach. The dude is done.

Healthy or not, they have a lot of young players in need of guidance and a veteran presence in the locker room, he'll give them that. Maybe he can convince Josh not to jack up 3s for no damn reason at all.

Oh I agree that he'd be a good fit there, but my point is just why give him a roster spot when you could just give him a coaching position?

^ Guess is he suffers from Fisher-itis, not ready to accept reality and hang them up.

Whenever they do though, I expect both will be able to follow in the footsteps of Kidd and Mark Jackson and be able to get a head coaching gig, if they so desired.

Agreed. I think Billups and Fish will make very good coaches when they realize that's where they need to be. I'd hope Fisher finds his way home here.

Young team. A vet like Billups will help them out.

He's done. This is more of a "player's coach" mentorship than anything. He's a great guy, and he'll bring veteran leadership to a young team. I can see him ending his career there and maybe working as a coach, or front office position post playing career.

Will Sheed scream " Ball don't lie" after Billups missed one FT earned by his famous leg kick-out flop ?
