SAN ANTONIO -- Spurs small forward Stephen Jackson broke a bone in the pinky of his right (shooting) hand and is expected to miss four to six weeks. It happened in the first quarter tonight against the Clippers.

The Spurs already are weak at that spot. Jackson was starting in place of Kawhi Leonard, who will miss at least the next week with left quadriceps tendinitis.

Tough loss for the Spurs but their depth will help ease the loss.

Also, this along with the Kyrie injury continues to prove how much of a warrior Kobe is for playing through multiple injuries (broken INDEX finger, wrist, etc).

No kidding about the Kobe comparison to "normal" people in the league. The "pinkie" knocks him out for 6 weeks ?? I thought Jacko was tough. Didn't Kobe break the damn index finger on his shooting hand, splint or cast it up and go out there next game and rest of the season?

Kobe's a different animal though. He's almost inhuman when it comes to injuries.

Still, a "normal animal" should just rest one or two weeks and then be a tough man and play with a splint or something.

6 weeks for a pinky, really? I don't even play pro-basketball, and a broken pinky wouldn't keep me out that much.

Pretty much. Jackson is no Kobe though.
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.

“I feel like I’m just as good as [Kobe],” says Jackson. “I might not get the publicity or notoriety he gets, but I feel like I can play with anybody in the NBA any given night.”

funny Kobe didn't even miss the rest of the game when he broke his ring finger on his shooting hand..
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.
