Brian Grant to the Mavs?

Postby SWOL on Sat Aug 02, 2003 12:27 pm

The Mavericks have contacted the Heat and shown a renewed interest in Brian Grant. The Mavericks and Heat were close to a deal in February that would have brought Nick Van Exel to Miami and sent Grant to Dallas, but the Mavericks are no longer offering Van Exel and have not made the Heat an offer attractive enough to consider.

Might be a good trade for both sides. I would like to see Grant in another situation. Dallas would be a good fit? Though is he big enough to play center?

Nick the quick was unreal in the playoffs. I can understand why Dallas would have second thought, but Dallas needs to add some defense.

Sounds like a trade that could help both teams.

I don't know who Dallas would offer Miami for Grant because they already said they aren't going to trade Finley, Nash, Dirk, or Nick. So I don't know what the heat could possibly want from Dallas, I don't think they would want Bradley or LaFrentz. So I don't see a trade between these 2 teams happening.

thats a pretty even trade imo, even though van exel is better then grant, there age is similar and worth to the respective teams needing the player

Re-assemble the Lake Show. If they were going to make this trade, they should of also signed Elden Campbell and maybe even brought back Cedric Ceballos ... then wait for Vlade to be a free agent (I think next year) ... just kidding. :freak2:

Grant for Nick ... to me anyway looks like a fair trade.

a

Divac
Campbell
Ceballos
Jones
VAn Exel

team would rule the eastern conference

i dont care how choke Vlade is

i dont care how lazy Elden is

and I certainly dont care how injury prone Jones is

they would meet the current day lakers in the finals if they were in the east

they would just need to some time so that Ceballos can get back into shape... its a different type of conditioning to play basketball than to water ski

haha the heat woulld be good but not great. Look at teams like the nets, pistons and sixers. Their lineups are deep. I think the sixers are one of tha top teams in the east and they can knock off tha nets now that they got coleman back. I mean look at their startin lineup:

Coleman
K Thomas
G Robinson
Iverson
Snow

bench:
Mckie
Jackson
Salmons(tore it up in the summer leagues)
Buckner
Williams
Maculloch(if he ever can play again)
Hill(if he re-signs)

I think the sixers can win the east

but anyway back to the grant/van exel trade

i think if ur dallas u would be stupid to give up van exel and get grant. I say lafrentz for grant straight up. Keep van exel, so in crunch time u can have nash, van exel, finley, nowitzki and grant out there
