Andrew Bynum still has pain in his left knee that has kept him from making his debut with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Bynum is in pain when he walks or attempts even light physical activity, except for swimming. He had been recovering from a bone bruise in his right knee and injured his left knee while bowling last month.

The 7-foot center will have his knees examined again Dec. 20 and did not know whether he would need an MRI exam.

"Worst-case scenario, it's another month," he said Monday night. "Best-case scenario, I can ramp it up."

Bynum has not practiced or played for the 76ers since he was acquired in the off-season from the Lakers. Bynum said his right knee has improved to the point where he might have been able to play. He was again listed as inactive for Philadelphia's game against Detroit because of bilateral bone bruises.

“There's nothing I can do about it,” Bynum said. “It's arthritis in the knees. Cartilage is missing. That's not going to regrow itself. Maybe in the future, next three to five years, there may be something out there that really does help. Right now, it's kind of a waiting game.”

I mentioned this in the Brandon Roy thread before. I'll mention it again.

http://www.iagh.com/

It's non-invasive. Just an injection. If he has no cartilage, then the process will take 6 months. Probably more in his case since he's a bigger body.

It's not approved by the FDA for use to treat knee cartilage, so insurance companies don't cover it and doctors hence don't tell patients about it. That won't change unless somebody wants to pay $1 billion for a new trial to win FDA approval.

I hate his attitude, but I hate most kids attitudes when they're that age :man10: . No one deserves to have a crap body though.

It'll be a sad sad day if BYnum ends up coming back and the Sixers get a top 4 seed in the East and we don't even crack the top 4...

I'm sure all the critics are gonna give the Lakers crap for trading Bynum to get Howard if Bynum comes back and puts up 22/12/2/good ft percentage.

Eh. It was the right move.

The man's body is made of pocelain. The Lakers moved on from that when they could. It was most definitely the right move.

True but that's not what I'm saying...I'm saying IF Bynum comes back...huge IF

Dec 20 is a big day for Bynum and the Sixers....if the news is good on his MRI...maybe Bynum comes back sooner than everyone thinks.

Dude, no one thought he'd get injured this badly anyway. He can't get back soon enough. I don't know anything about the situation, but if I were him I'd be frustrated out of my mind not being able to play and show off on a new team in my own city.
