Bynum Discussion

Kyrie's also been pretty bad so far, which has contributed to the Cavs awful offense. He should start picking it up (just had 41 points against the Wizards), but I've read reports that he's been butting heads with Mike Brown. A lot of players are supposedly sick of his act too.

So...Kyrie and Love to LA! :jam2:

I think we'll have a better shot picking up Durant than we do Irving.

Cleveland has the advantage of being in the leastern conference. Hence why they are tied for 8th place in the conference despite playing awful. They also have young picks and prospects that they can use to bring in veterans and make key trades. If they can make it to the ECF in that conference (not impossible considering the lack of competition), they may be able to convince Kyrie to stay.

OKC has a bunch of vets, but their picks and prospects are a little thin right now. I don't see them contending anytime soon. At some point they will need to decide whether to keep things as they are or try to rebuild. Durant will be a 9th year vet in 2016. He won't be too interested in doing a rebuilding phase. And if he is going to go through a rebuilding phase, he may prefer a bigger market that offers larger endorsement opportunities.

Bynum scored a season high 16 points, 8-15 shooting (53FG%), against the Spurs in 20 minutes. He was the Cavs leading scorer despite playing only limited minutes. The Spurs decided not to double him. He would have definitely had more than 20 if he played 35 minutes.

^^Saw most of that and all of Bynum's minutes. He looks to be rounding into shape. He looked no different than his last couple of months with us.

They are taking it very slow with him and for good reason. When he's on the floor he's a game changer for them.

Of more concern is what the H has happened to Irving…. he looks like Brandon Jennings all of a sudden…..

Kyrie is trying to learn how to play with others.

Great as he is, he's yet to play more than 59 games in a season. That's because almost every play was run through him during his first two seasons. Brown, in an effort to try to keep him healthy, wants some of the offensive load to be shared with Bynum. However, the offensive system that Brown has come up with leaves a lot to be desired.

20/10/5 in 30 minutes. Best part was, he was laughing and looked like he was finally getting to enjoy basketball again.

^Not just that. 3 assists, a few hockey assists, and only 1 TO. His passing out of the double-teams is way better than it ever was his last season with the Lakers. He's not Pau Gasol at passing, but he's approaching Shaq level, which is pretty good. Also had another Up and Under on Noah.

Rounding into shape. 14 shots finally. They don't know how to set up post player.

If they can get him 15-17 shots a night he'll get them 18 and 11 or more.

No surprise there. Most perimeter players have never played with a traditional postup player. Bynum was lucky to play with Fish, Kobe, and Luke early in his career.

He's been up and down throughout November. He'll play great against the Spurs and Pelicans and then lay eggs against the Wizards and Celtics.

Fortunately for him, this is one of the few times where he's played well and his team has actually won.

Those announcers :man10: . So exciteable. I guess when you can't remember your last good back-to-the-basket player, any good post move is the most exciting thing ever.

For a large part of his time in LA, I was generally anti-Bynum. But after getting shipped for the Dwightmare, and seeing Andrew get trashed by the national media... I'm really glad he has a 2nd chance to prove himself. It's nostalgic seeing him play.

Get em 'Drew :jam2:

Damn…..it IS good to see him playing well again. Hope he stays healthy. Too bad he is stuck with such an obnoxious ("All Day Every Day") and not great coach. Kindly put.

Man, I really wish we still had Bynum... his heart and persevenve are 100x greater than Dwight Coward's.

Anyone regret the deal yet? Considering last season was a wash anyway, I sure do, but hindsight is 20/20. Great to see Bynum dominating again, and at least he can keep doing it on my fantasy team (yep, had him in the lineup for that game since I made a somewhat rash trade for him during preseason), if not the Lakers :man9:

My only regret with that deal is that we didn't deal directly with Philly.

Iggy / Vucevic for Bynum would have been 1000x better.
