Bum knees..... wouldn't you?
If he can show he's healed up for any length of time this will not be his last contract.... if the injuries keep coming they it will be. Can't knock him for that can you?
He's already made enough money in his career to be comfortable. If I was him, I'd figure I didn't have a lot of time left so I'd want to actually compete for something rather than playing on a mediocre team that gave me the most money. But hey like I said, no surprise, Bynum has never had the biggest heart.
.... no heart? He improved into probably the best offensive post player in the game while at the same time losing 3 consecutive summers to rehabilitation. All of that and he still got better each year. Many other players come into this league and never get any better (Howard anyone) and yet Laker fans can't seem to put aside petty hurt and misplaced emotion about this guy and at least acknowledge his progress while being under constant rumored trades, being slammed by the best player on the team (ship is azz out), being not wanted by the coach or GM and recovering from serious injury 4 times?
What's your definition of "heart" anyway?..... and by that definition how many players meet it?
He was humble enough to work with Kareem 3 summers in a row when he could on getting better... He was improved considerably by taking the time to learn from someone better than him. Name another good player that has even worked with an all time great even one offseason to improve. Kareem has offered those same services to at least 5 other big men only to be turned down each time.... yeah.... he's a punk with no heart.
I'm as upset as many here over his comments and some of the dumb things he did but I also acknowledge what I saw with my own eyes in terms of improvement and HEART.... which only a few Lakers have demonstrated over the last 15 years. He played in the playoffs hurt in Kobe's 4th championship.... at risk of permanent damage which may have actually happened.... and he has no heart?...
He did some pretty stupid things and displayed a serious "entitlement attitude".... that's for sure but we've seen just as bad from MWP in the same time frame yet he got a pretty nice "see ya" from Laker fans.....
As for playing for a championship?.... where did he have that chance again? Did Miami make an offer he turned down? It wasn't Dallas or in Philadelphia that's for sure. He followed a young and rising star and he's a punk for taking the most money..... Howard does the same thing for less money and he's what? Run out of town by Kobe or Jimmy?
