Wonder why he'd want to come here with Blake still on the roster.

Yeah I'm sure the Pau attraction would be big....but Nash and Blake already here? Hmm, Calderon + Nash back court, with Blake (and someone) backing them up, Kobe on the wing at SF (eventually)....??

Anyway, D12 needs to bleep make this bleep decision already......I mean seriously?!

^ Yeah, I suppose it could work since MDA likes the two PG backcourt. We could really monitor Nash's minutes and cut him off at 26 a night until around March. If Dwight stays and Morrow and Calderon want to come here, I sure as hell won't complain. The list of players wanting to be here isn't very long right now.

For the minimum or even mini-MLE, sure, come on over. IMO he's bit better version of Blake, scores better, gets more assists. If he came I'd trade Blake for whatever I could get.

DWIGHT, PLEASE TELL ME YOU ARE WATCHING TWITTER AT THE VERY LEAST. SOUNDS LIKE EVERYONE IS WAITING ON YOU AND PEOPLE REALLY ARE THINKING OF COMING TO LA IF YOU STAY.......PLEASE THINK OF THIS. YOU SIGNING COULD REALLY REALLY REALLY BE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SHOOTING FOR DRAFT AND FA NEXT YEAR AND JUST SHOOTING FOR SOME GOOD EXTRA PLAYERS IN THE FA MARKET NEXT YEAR.

If we get Calderon we really have to deal Nash.. I'd take Calderon/Blake over Nash/Blake at this point. Have to think Jose would only want to come if Pau is staying though.

We might, it's possible, but I'm honestly tired of Blake at this point so I'm biased. I'm tired of the inconsistencies, the injuries, I'm ready to go another direction and upgrade at backup PG. With Calderon I don't think there's much dropoff in style of play or production when he would come in for Nash, where right now we're just hoping Blake can keep the team afloat when he comes in. Some games he steps up, others he is just out there making no impact, I'm ready to move on.

Calderon would be a HUGE improvement over Blake and give us a legitimate starting PG if Nash got hurt again. He averaged 11 points, 7 assists on 50% from the field and 50% from three last year in Detroit. He's not the defensive athlete that I'd like to get at the position, but if we can get him for the mini-MLE, it's a no-brainer and then you have to hope to make significant improvements defensively at other positions.

I love Calderon. Sure he is a defensive liability, but his shooting and assist to turnover ratio are off the charts. He has the size to play shooting guard alongside Nash or Blake. If the Lakers can snag him with the mini MLE, you have to do it.

Can get other players easy looks and make open shots all day. Takes some pressure and minutes off Nash. Blake had a good year but he can certainly play off the ball as well. Jose would be the best we could get with the money available.

This. I hate that this potentially hinges on Dwight because I'd like him just to have him. But if he and Morrow came with Dwight, our team suddenly is chalk full of shooters and spacers for Dwight. Our perimeter defense sucks big ones, but our offense will roll.

Seriously what can we offer to Calderon other than the mmle and vet min ? We can't even keep and hold on our own player Earl Clark that we all wanted him back, Calderen is way out of our price range and we would not be able to afford him.

Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA now

I'm told Dwight Howard and Jose Calderon are interested in playing together. Calderon may wait for Howard to make a decision before signing.

Would love to have him on the team, he and Nash can definitely split the minutes at PG. If this were to happen I would hope we could ship Blake out for a SF.

Basically if Dwight resigns there is a great chance Calderon and Morrow come with him.

The stakes for Dwight just sky-rocketed. #JustGotMoreNervous

Would be a lift in terms of athleticism, too. And I don't think it would make us worse defensively.
