Cavs' Maybe Looking To Trade Daniel Gibson

Cavs' Maybe Looking To Trade Daniel Gibson

The Cavs deny that they are “shopping” Daniel Gibson, but more than a few team sources say their club has had some level of contact regarding Gibson throughout the summer. With draft pick Dion Waiters expected to join super sophomore Kyrie Irving in the Cavs backcourt there may not be much of a role for Gibson and several teams have tried to engage Cleveland on a deal. As things settle in and the rookies in Cleveland find their way Gibson and his ending contract are likely on the move.

Gibson is owed $4.7 million this season which is a fairly easy number cap wise and if the Cavs can extract a draft pick or a roster part they want, you can expect Gibson will be moved.

He sucks no thanks.

Besides we already have a backup 2 in Meeks and Gibson nor Meeks can play the 1.

Actually Boobie is more PG than SG. He's just a SG in a PG's body.

Really that's interesting.....

% of team's total minutes played at certain position....

Daniel Gibson

2010-2011 - 25% at PG, 22% at SG
2009-2010 - 27% at PG, 0% at any other position
2008-2009 - 45% at PG, 0% at any other position
2007-2008 - Played PG

You didn't even know he played a majority of his minutes at PG, but you know he sucks? :man11:

Well clearly based on his awful shooting numbers he didn't play it very effectively.

Clearly you are just going off reading the stats for ONLY this year and haven't watched him play for his whole career. And save the, ohhh man Kyrie was my favorite player and I watched a lot of Cavs games last year and Boobie sucked stuff, because he was hurt last season.

Anyway let's see what's going on here.....

2010/2011 - 28 mpg, 11.6 ppg, 3 apg, 3 rpg, 53 TS%, 49% eFG, 40% 3PT, PER 13.2
2009/2010 - 19 mpg, 6.3 ppg, 1 apg, 1 rpg, 61 TS%, 60% eFG, 48% 3PT, PER 11.3
2008/2009 - 24 mpg, 7.8 ppg, 2 apg, 2 rpg, 52 TS%, 49%, eFG, 38% 3PT, PER 10.1
2007/2008 - 30 mpg, 10.4 ppg, 3 apg, 2 rpg, 59 TS%, 56% eFG, 44% 3PT, PER 11.7
2006/2007 - 17 mpg, 4.6 ppg, 1 apg, 2 rpg, 56 TS%, 54% eFG, 42% 3PT, PER 9.4

Clearly based on his solid shooting numbers, he does play effectively whether it be at PG or SG.

Let's throw in 2011/2012, where he only played in 35 games and was hurt, in a lockout season, since that clearly is the only thing you are looking at.....

2011/2012 - 26 mpg, 7.5 ppg, 2 apg, 3 rpg, 49 TS%, 46% eFG, 40% 3PT, PER 9.2

Career - 24 mpg, 8.2 ppg, 2 apg, 2 rpg, 55 TS%, 52% eFG, 42% 3PT, PER 11.1

Boobie does not suck, Definitely a solid roll player. You can however, criticize his injury history.

Boobie for Blake please do it Mitch. And for people that foolishly think he plays mostly 2, remember mike brown is our coach, who would you rather see at the 2 boobie or blake? Yell™

Thank God we got Nash or I have a feeling this would be our starting PG this upcoming season. :hurl:

I read this as boobies do not suck.

And I agree.

awkward nursing references aside, the lakers might have been interested prior to the meeks signing, but i think he's got that role locked up. and as backup pg, i prefer blake (or even a sober duhon).

:man10:

Gibson doesn't fit anymore, you're right. We've got the better fit in Meeks and Blake is locked in that backup PG role as long as he's on for 2 more years. Next season he's an expiring 4 million, so hopefully we can get some value on that.

I definitely prefer Gibson as the backup 1 just because of his age and physical ability in comparison to Blake or Duhon (especially Duhon). Duhon is absolute garbage, I'd prefer a pug taped to a vacuum cleaner.
