Chicago Tribune drops Sam Smith

Chicago Tribune drops Sam Smith

Postby JSM on Fri Mar 21, 2008 6:18 pm

Sacramento Bee: Longtime NBA scribe Sam Smith is no more at the Chicago Tribune, as he accepted a buyout this week. He's not off the hoops map, though, as he has been writing for hoopshype.com.

He's a pretty good writer, very pro-Kobe.

Yep. No more "trade rumors" which were really just random ideas he pulled out of his head. He's still blogging at hoopshype but I don't think his entires will get near the attention his articles for the Tribune did.

He was a writer for a major news publication out of Chicago, I would constitute him as being a good writer simply by the level he reached.

Everyone has their own opinion, I personally thought he was a good writer.

Sam Smith is the NBA Expert on msnbcsports so I usually read him there once a week. I think he was a pretty good writer and didn't really have a problem with him. His column is always a good read for me.
