:man3: ....So it's not how good you are.... but how you compare to previous players on a given team?....

Who did Bill Russell compare against in the 60's?....

All of the things wrong with the MVP award are wrong with the HOF..... There are no "standards" other than team accomplishments, popularity and keeping the media happy.....

I'm not sure what your point is Roos to be honest.

The dude has played in Boston for what? 14 years or so? He's broken most of their records, won a championship, etc. I mean is he as talented as those others? Maybe, maybe not, but he certainly is going to get in eventually.

Paul Pierce should be in the HOF IMO.... but it has absolutely nothing to do with where he played IMO. You made it sound like if he played for a crap team (which he did actually for about 7 years) he souldn't be in consideration.

Great players are great players. If one plays in Boston or LA he shouldn't be viewed any differently than on who plays in Memphis or New Orleans. That's my point.

The difference is the record books, that's what I was getting at. The record books in Charlotte are meaningless right now in comparison to the record books in Lakers' lore.

Bosh owning records in Toronto means very little to me in comparison to the records in Boston. If Bosh owned some records (like all time leading scorer, etc.) in Boston I might think more of him. As a leading scorer in Toronto, I'm frankly unimpressed.

He's more deserving than a bunch of former Celtic's over the years riding on the coat tails of some of the greats that's for sure. He's a clutch player, a great scorer and a leader.....
