^ Not at all. Copeland is a much better shooter than Earl, while Earl prefers the mid range game or scoring around the basket.

More like a Samaki Walker with dreads. He's only a slightly better shooter, but has a much higher first down conversion rate and will probably finish the season with more RBI's.

I didn't think we'd get our full MLE back without Dwight. And I also don't think we'd waste it ALL on Copeland of all people even if we did get it back.

We have 77 million in guaranteed deals WITHOUT D12. We aren't getting the full-MLE regardless.

Hearing #Knicks have interest in potentially splitting up their mini mid-level exception to sign Prigioni & Copeland. Cope receiving offers.

Saw this guy play a bit with the Knicks.

Think Jordan Hill, but a shooter. He's a very active guy.

i remember watching him play at Colorado. I don't think anybody saw him ever making it to the NBA. he really wasn't very impressive in college, but he's definitely worked a lot on his shot. i can say for sure the guy has worked his tail off the last few years.

League source: The Lakers have made an exploratory offer to Chris Copeland, but no signing. Cope's camp will await further offers & #Knicks.

I think this guy is a solid backup for cheap, but he certainly wouldn't be my first choice. He can shoot, and he's got a big frame, wouldn't be a terrible backup 3, but man I'd like to think we could do a little better.

Good to hear we made an offer, probably part of the mini-MLE. With the offers some players have been getting it wouldn't surprise me if he got offered something more.

^My thoughts exactly. He's a decent guy to have come off the bench. I really like him. If he can get more minutes, I believe he can be productive. We need his kind of skill set on this team right now...

I'll take him. Hard worker, good kid. Hopefully he's not too expensive. We're probably realizing that we need to flex that mini-MLE if we want to get any of these FAs that are signing contracts right now.

There'll be some scraps for later for guys like Delfino and Garcia. I'm hoping we get Ellington and maybe this Copeland kid. Then we grab a Delfino or a Garcia while we're at it.

Pacers continue to pursue Knicks free agent Chris Copeland, I'm told, and have offer on the table to the restricted free agent

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's more than what we can offer.

Bill Oram ‏@tribjazz 7h
Chris Copeland's agent said he expects further conversations with the Jazz and that Knicks RFA/former CU Buffalo still has interest in Utah.

Bill Oram ‏@tribjazz 36m
3 teams have extended offers to Chris Copeland but the Jazz are not among them, source says. Sounds like contact between camps has cooled.

Jared Zwerling ‏@JaredZwerling 1h
Source: Cavs now in play for Copeland with a potential multiyear deal. Also Pacers might be working a trade to create space for savvy vet.

I don't know much about him other than what I've read here and the stats.... why would we spend our precious little money we have on this guy? He seem to fill none of our holes... and we have a lot of them to fill.

As expected #Knicks use part of exception to sign Prigioni, leaving about $1.75 million available. Team would likely like to use it on Cope.

The only way we can compete with that offer is to use part of the mini mle.. Copeland is 29 but he's only been in the league 1 season, so the vet minimum contract we can offer him is only $788,872. No way he takes less than half what the Knicks are offering to come here..
