yeah...I don't get it. he's quite an athlete, but he's too small not to be a pure pg, and he doesn't shoot the ball well enough to be a scoring point next to a distributing wing. I like him as a sparkplug off the bench at both guard spots, but he's got to show me more to have nearly mucked up the paul deal for the clips and to now be mucking up their chances to bring in some vets and dump deandre Jordan in the process.

Yup... Everyone needs to keep in mind he's been playing against the opposing teams bench. When you go from 24 min a game against bench players to 36 min a game against starters things are just a little different. Aaron Brooks is a good example of that.

I don't see a " next step" for him to take.....

His shot has immensely improved since his rookie year, athleticism off the charts, can attack the paint at will, 23 years of age, I can see why teams want him. I do not think anyone thinks he is the next Rose/Williams/Paul of course, but the kid is a baller and any NBA team would love to have him, let alone the teams that do not have a solid PG.

I like Bledsoe's game a lot, is the clear key to any trade with the Clippers.

Celtics, Clippers resume push to get Kevin Garnett-Doc Rivers deal done

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers are discussing possible compromises to including guard Eric Bledsoe into the Kevin Garnett-Doc Rivers deal with hopes of completing an agreement on Monday, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Doc Rivers and Kevin Garnett could soon be headed to Los Angeles. (Getty Images)Discussions over a blockbuster deal reached an impasse on Saturday when Boston general manager Danny Ainge held firm that Bledsoe had to be a part of package that included DeAndre Jordan and a first-round pick, but sources say that Boston has shown a willingness to find another asset to supplant Bledsoe and complete the complicated deal, sources said.

The Clippers are prepared to give Rivers a five-year deal to coach and believe acquiring Rivers and Garnett – who will waive his no-trade clause – will lock up the re-signing of free-agent superstar Chris Paul, sources said.

The prospects of bringing Rivers back to the Celtics have become less appealing for Boston, who understand, as one league executive said, "There's no putting the genie back in the bottle. You can't pretend this didn't happen and just go back to work."

Rivers has three years and $21 million left on his Celtics contract, but doesn't want to stay in Boston unless the Celtics are willing to bring back Garnett and Paul Pierce to avoid rebuilding for another year, sources said. Boston will not let Rivers coach or work anywhere in the NBA for the duration of his contract without compensation, sources said.

I think this is a very good move for the Clippers. I don't know if it puts them over the top, but it's a good move. I'm disappointed we as an organization can't make any similar moves...

Kevin Garnett - F/C - Celtics A deal between the Celtics and Clippers involving Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers, is reportedly "close to being done very, very soon."
Multiple sources are echoing the same sentiment, and it seems the Celtics are no longer insisting that Eric Bledsoe be included as long as the Clippers take back the contract of either Jason Terry or Courtney Lee. In addition to shedding salary, Boston's haul would include DeAndre Jordan and a first-round pick.

not too surprised. boston didn't need bledsoe (i'm sure they are fine with rondo/bradley going forward), and it's just as important for them to dump salary as it is to acquire assets. dumping bass, terry, or lee would be pretty sweet for them. i imagine bledsoe will be replaced by picks, though.

Not a good trade for Boston in my opinion.

You're trying to rebuild so why take on the massive contract of DeAndre Jordan without taking on Bledsoe who might be worth the money? The picks from the Clippers aren't going to be worth anything either.

The Clips bailing on Jordan is a good thing for them.... but now they have a very injury prone and aging team.

They will be a good team but until they either dramatically change CP3's involvement in the offense or let him go they are still not a championship squad. Nash was better than CP3 at his best and he had more weapons in Phoenix and still couldn't get that style of play into the finals much less win one.

I thought you couldn't make trades until the draft, or at least until the Finals are over?

Top 4 seed in the West...can KG/Pierce handle the night to night grind of the West? They look worn down vs (L)eastern Conference teams I dont expect these dinosaurs to perform well out West come playoff time

pretty sure you can trade at any point after the season's over. if the lakers wanted to trade with Milwaukee right now, they could do it. just certain players (about to be FAs, those with options, etc.) can't be moved.

Well the tenants and the evil empire sort of switched franchises in the '70's. There was a whole writeup by Bill Simmons on it on espn a few years ago. You could probably find it if you search for it.

And don't think the #celtics are just going to waive Pierce just to see him sign with #clippers a day later. They want return for PP.

There is an interesting history with these two teams making major swaps...

In 1978, the owner of the Boston Celtics & the Buffalo Braves basically swapped franchises & many key players.
The owner of the Celtics wanted to move his team to San Diego, but the NBA was not in favor of the idea. Instead, the two owners basically exchanged franchises & many key players & then the Buffalo Braves (who were basically the Celtics at that point) moved to San Diego & became the Clippers.. The rest is history.

There are more detailed articles on this swap, but here is some basic info.

Man if the Clippers could get this done they'll be among the front runners for the title next season, depending on how much KG and Pierce have left in the tank, plus KG and Pierce have to stay healthy though.

KG - Griffin - Pierce - Crawford - CP3

Coach: Doc Rivers
Michael Jordan : "My Chicago team are the all-time greatest"
Magic Johnson : "Put me with Kareem, James Worthy, Cooper and Byron Scott, and we'd dominate your Bulls team"

okc should be back in the mix, and SA refuses to die (and has tons of cap space this summer, btw). but yeah, they'd be right there.

miami would still be the favorite, though.

Sources confirm: Talks between Boston and Clippers have failed to result in a deal. Clippers moving on.

Again: Clippers source reiterates team is definitely not trading Blake Griffin.
