I don't really get why Hollins is in the picture.

Career 4 points and 2 boards a game isn't really press conference worthy.

Hollins has upside. He's long, athletic and plays hard. I would rather have him on the floor over Dj, who is a complete liability. I think he figures prominently in the team's plans as a big off the bench. Unless of course, they upgrade.

Hollins is 28, 7 years in the NBA, I'm pretty sure he is what he's going to be. I say this as a UCLA fan, I watched him there, he's not much different now. He'a not bad for a backup/3rd string center, not great either, just saying his averages are always about the same, he is what he is, I don't see much upside.

The Clippers overall had a very good offseason though, kept Paul, Barnes, and Hollins, plus added Collison, Reddick, and Dudley. And of course, they got a big upgrade with Doc as their head coach.

I don't really see Doc as an upgrade. This is the same guy that lost 18 games in a row with Paul Pierce in his prime...He won 1 ring the very next year after they add KG and Ray Allen. Not saying Doc is a horrible coach but he is extremely overrated and benefited from a roster that was similar to Miami's. Im not willing to give Spoelstra the title of great coach or being able to take a team to the next level even though he won back to back something that Doc failed to do.

The Clippers look awfully like that Hornets team in 2008
The Lakers are my drug of choice.

"Blake is one of those guys, where his age has nothing to do with anything," Paul told ESPNLosAngeles.com. "People may say he's a young guy, but he's been special in this league, he's been an All Star. His voice carries a lot of weight and I think our team will definitely go as Blake goes. He's our guy, and he's good enough to do so."

The only thing more annoying than watching commercials for the Paperclips is reading about the paperclips.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Griffin and Paul have two things in common :

- both overrated players

- never healthy coming playoffs time

Don't judge me here :man11:

But I have watched both of the clippers first 2 pre-season games just so I can't get an idea of how they might play against us opening night and OMG DeAndre Jordan is a different player this year. He has been an absolute defensive juggernant on defense and is in the best shape of his life just sprinting down the court and getting easy points. Doc Rivers has already talked with him and just wanted him to be their defensive anchor. DeAndre has also been shooting his FT's a lot better. I know its 2 games in and its pre-season but he's my pick for most improved and or defensive player of the year. He just looks so much more focused and intense out there.

Some of his stats from first 2 games:

Game 1: 16 pts, 8 reb, 2 stls, 4 BLK (all in 1st quarter), 4-5 FTM, 20 mins
Game 2: 14 pts, 7 reb, 6 BLK (4 again in 1st quarter), 6-7 FGM, 2-3 FTM, 21 mins

Here's some highlights of him in preseason game 2

He's not even playing half a game...

Okay, I need to take a shower after giving this much praise to the Clippers and DeAndre :hurl:

Battletested, I wouldn't get too excited. Jordan lit up the preseason last year, and I heard a lot of talk about how he was finally turning the corner, and we saw how he turned out...

I'm not sold yet.

The problem with Deandre is he is a mental midget. He is all athleticism (which is great) and very little BBall IQ (which negates the athleticism). I don't put a great deal of stock in him playing the Ben Wallace "Defense it is" team game for very long if at all. Ego will get in the way first.

Maybe so, I have already said and agree with you that consistency is the biggest thing for him. We will see, but he looked great again on defense this latest game.
