Yeah. That's right. First a house, and then a hat. The Clippers signed one of their summer league roster players, Marcus Hatten, today. He averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists at St. John's. Those are like Eddie House's numbers when he was at college. And look what the dude is now like! Clipper flukes. Hatten may be better than House, but only considerably better.
The 6'11", 240 lb. Maciej Lampe finally signed a contract with the NYK's today. That surely took a while. Most lottery draft picks got their contracts out of their way so they could have some fun instead of negotiating with teams. Oh, well, international players always take long, especially when their agents start making a fuss about the issues and stuff. Lampe's dream is to prove doubters wrong about being the 30th pick in the draft when he was projected the 6th.
The Toronto Raptors have signed Rick Brunson and George Williams to contracts after signing no-namers like Milt Palacio, Mengke Bateer and Jerome Moiso. Both these guys are no-namers. Brunson spent most of his career on the bench cheering for losing teams. Williams--who is this guy anyway?
Karl Malone's mother has died from a sudden heart attack, prompting Malone to leave the US team immediately. Our condolences to his family.
Sidney Lowe, who has coached the Grizz's and lead them to a losing season, has joined the Timberwolves as assistant coach. Jerome Kersey has been hired by the Blazers to help the players act like good people on and off the court (serves them right--after years of pot, blood and marijuana).
