An NBA source said Monday that despite all of Odom's statements, the Clippers likely will still match the offer sheet. Ultimately, the decision will be made by owner Donald T. Sterling, who has long professed to be a big fan of Odom.

--Daily News

Andy Roeser, the team's executive vice president, said in a statement last month that the Clippers would match all reasonable offers to their four restricted free agents, although privately the team was determined to allow Miller to leave while building around a core of Brand, Maggette and Odom.

--LA Times

I REALLY think that Odom could excel with the Clippers if he's just just got that right mentality.....

I know what would be good for the Clippers. They should sign Odom for the 6 year deal and then trade him for Eddie Jones. Miami wants to get rid of Eddie because he has a high budget contract, and Miami wants to clear cap space, and how cool would it be if Eddie came back to L.A, even if he isn't a Laker.

I think that the main reason they are going to match the offer is so they can trade him. They don't want to have a player the likes of Odom just walk out the door without getting something for him. I think look for a sign and trade or a trade later on in the season.

negative, they can move maggette to the 3, and have jones play the 2, and have richardson be the back up 2/3, and jaric the back up two guard. It will work out but i dont really want eddie in LA...again. But i think the sign-and-trade deal is HIGHLY likely, maybe the clippers can get BUTLER!!! That would be TIGHT! But all Miami has to offer is Grant and Jones, cuz i doubt they'll unload Butler, but if it means getting Odom, i can see somethin happening there....

wow if miami gets nobody this offseason, they are gonna have one LONG season! Hopefully Wade and Butler step up, and Jones and Grant are not injured...
