Delaney used to be involved in bad things

I found this, I am not 100% sure it's true, but judge for yourself. If it is true, this excuse of a ref should no longer be allowed to officiate anther game.

Bob Delaney: Currently one of the top veteran and respected referees in the National Basketball Association, Delaney previously was a New Jersey police office and then spent three years working as an undercover FBI agent. After an intentional rumor was created that Delaney was involved with some "bad things" and discharged as a police officer, Delaney changed name, occupation, appearance and personality. In the type of undercover assignments where very few men come back alive, even members of Delaney's immediate family believed that, sadly, he was a cop who had turned to the dark side of organized crime. Now, as an NBA referee, Delaney has never worried about backing down from the "big men" on the basketball court, since the dangers and individuals Delaney knew in his previous occupation were far more perilous. Today, Delaney is a highly-requested top corporate motivational speaker during the NBA off-season.

Robert Delaney is based in Florida.

Well, I don't know, maybe it's true or maybe it's just a rumor, but it does make you :man7: Is this from a website? I want to see for myself. Thanks, jsm.

Unless I'm misreading that ....

It's saying that he worked undercover for the Police and FBI where he would go undercover with the story that he was a cop gone bad.

I don't see it saying he did anything bad himself ... just the opposite.

In fact, if that's true, then he should be looked up. A true american hero.

It says, "... an intentional rumor was created..." so maybe he is a hero. But that's why I want to see the source of this. And it doesn't change the fact that he made some bad calls (just my opinion, you can believe what you want).

it appears this story about him is true, check out today's daily news, there is a little something about it.

from today's daily news:Delaney is a former New Jersey police officer who spent three years working as an undercover FBI agent. He has not taken O'Neal's off- court interest in similar occupations to be a common bond.

O'Neal once asked Delaney before a tipoff for help getting a job with the FBI, a request Delaney did not take seriously. On Nov. 30, 2001, Delaney ejected O'Neal, and four Lakers restrained O'Neal as he tried to charge the court.

and it also seems he has had it out for us in the past

from today's daily news:Two years ago, he ejected O'Neal in the first quarter of a game in Seattle. Three years ago, he ejected Jackson from a playoff game in San Antonio.

Delaney has also been involved with other bad things...

Like, let's say... LARRY MILLER.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."
