Demarr Johnson to get released.

Demarr Johnson to get released.

Postby Shaq Fan on Sun Oct 12, 2003 7:07 am

I heard that Demarr Johnson will be getting released by the Suns in the upcoming week. Once he is released the Pheonix roster will be 17, with more cuts to be expected.

-------------

This really surproses me, I thought they got Demarr to stick with them, and give him some big minutes, but maybe the car accident has lessened his game, which probably is expected.

Didn't Demarr Johnson put up big numbers for the Hawks last season? he could be a good backup for Marbury, Hardaway.

He was out last year because of a car accident?

Anyhow, have anyone seen this guy actually play?

He sucks. He was a lock to make the Grizzlies, but West saw what I saw and apparently so do the Suns.

Yeah that's right he had his head in a sling. A big medal device that kept his head straight. I remember Sportscenter did a special on him last year.

yeah DerMarr was really expected to be good...even before the car crash he was a bust though...shooting less than 40% both seasons for Atlanta...he has a lanky frame but doesn't put much good use into it for D..three point range...that's about it. Not much to rave about now

last year, before he was out because of the car crash, it was supposed to be his breakout year. From what I heard, he was even going to start. If the Suns release him, I think someone else should pick him up, I think he will have a decent season, and a really good year next season, after he gets used to playing again, for a year. The Heat or Nuggets should give him a shot.

They ever even wanting to waive Penny? What kind of stupid move is that? Sides, DerMarr has an attitude problem.

Penny can still come off the bench...no rumors of trading the 1 cent yet :man10:

well even if there arent any rumors...the suns SHOULD trade him...they coulda had jus Joe Johnson and Casey Jacobsen switching off at the 2 position, and Shawn Marion and Dermarr Johnson as the 3, Amare and Tom at 4, and Voskuhl and Cabarkapa at the 5, and of course stephon and brevin at 1...

the question is who is willing to take Penny's contract?
