Donald Sterling: Get away from me you pig!

This guy is certifiable. Pouring millions down multiple rats' (lawyers) holes to keep himself from the 2 billion dollar sale of his team to a buyer of (their) choice rather than the NBA's. But oh hell yeah dig up a bunch of dirt, especially on Stern and his henchman Silver. :jam2: Munch munch. :hungry:

Only part of this that makes me nervous? Stuff that comes out about Jerry Buss/Lakers that is negative or stuff coming out about Stern helping the Lakers at any point in time...the media/laker haters would have a FIELD day with that....

^^From a distance the NBA has always been more like the WWF than the NFL.... I wouldn't be surprised one bit that "nudges" have happened to get players or teams where the larger ownership group wants them. It's big bushiness and big money. Why would it be any less corrupt than the people running it? Think about that for a minute. Sterling was the longest tenured owner.

Whoa, when did he ever help us? It was rumored that Stern didn't like the Lakers. Sure, in public, he'd say he liked the Lakers because they were always a ratings coup for the league. "Lakers vs. Lakers" was his dream finals matchup, etc.. But in private, he was a Knicks fan. He certainly didn't do us any favors with Chris Paul.

Back in the "dollar" amounts Buss bought the Lakers for from Jack Kent Cook, he was running out of time and like a million or so short, and Sterling loaned him the money. They were real estate moguls contemporaries. And Buss returned the favor helping Sterling get into the "owners' club" with positive endorsement.

Actually my specialty is Contract Negotiation, Construction and Labor law. I've used it as an adjunct service to help Healthcare entities with a turn-key solution in development and staffing of healthcare buildings. I used to give a lot of money to Lawyers.... now I keep it..... :man1:

I'm utterly clueless as to what the official decision is here. I understand Steve Ballmer won the bid, and that Shelly was authorized to do so under the Sterling trust. But then I hear that Donald himself needs to sign it off himself, and that Shelly needs to prove Donald is not sound in order for her to gain full control. There's just sooo many angles here and 1 minute it sounds official, and then the next minute it sounds like it's still Donald's team.

I mean if the season started today, who would be the owner?

Sterling is trying to stall out sale to get nba back to bargaining table. Wants them to drop fine and ban. Might actually win his case and nba has reason to settle. What is the name of owner from Orlando?

NBA maybe a bit worried? He's still a piece of work.

If season started today sterling trust would be owner. That could change very quickly though.

No, the gist is that dude is even creepier. Some weird stories like him sticking his hand inside another team OWNER's shirt to feel his pec without permission.

The only thing I disagree with the article is ESPN's pro NBA stance that Donald would essentially be suing himself with Shelly paying him because the courts will eventually decide if Shelly had the right to sell the team and agree to protect the NBA from lawsuits against Donald.

Hey so the Donald / Shelly trust case is 3 days in session now to determine if there was basis for Shelly to take over the trust and sell the team to Ballmer, because Don is bat s*** crazy and can't make these decisions. I have caught some reporting of it in the car on KFI from an excellent reporter, Eric Leonard, describing the circus with bat s*** crazy Don on the stand. Sterling sounds like he is looney tunes half the time in how he answers questions and changes the subject to go on diatribes about Shelly, the doctors, the NBA and even David Stern. I think from descriptions by Leonard the jury probably looks at this guy and agrees he's got a screw loose. Then it is game over and sale is green lighted. So my question from weeks ago about whether his lawyers had any scruples or conscience in allowing him to try to fight this, and for what reason since it is making him a bleep load of money, is apparently NO they did not. Just want their billable hours. :man10:
