Donald Sterling: Get away from me you pig!

So? What's your point?

It isn't as if she baited an otherwise normal person into saying some out of context racist comments. Sterling had to pay out the largest penalty for housing discrimination in US history. The guy is a POS. In exposing him, whatever her motives were, this girl did society a favor.

My point is that this girl is NOT a victim regardless of her race as everyone in the media is making her out to be. My point is that she didn't release this tape "to stop racism". Thats my point. Sterling was exposed, and like I said earlier he now has to suffer the consequences because of that. But this girl by far is no hero, she dated the guy for years and she knew what she was getting herself into. She saw dollar signs and kept her mouth shut, when that money stop coming in all of a sudden she starts to care about equality for all?? :man3:

^ well she's from LA. So unless she had an abusive, highly dysfunctional upbringing (only explanation for native LA'ers become clip fans) she likely is. Of course she is a gourgeous young girl of mixed ethic background and she is willingly banging an 80 racist. So yeah I guess her upbringing was probably dysfunctional to say the least

I haven't heard anyone describe her as a victim. She is banging an 80 year old man for his money. She is definitely a skank. Sterling is a villified no one is being cast as a victim

Well maybe you haven't been paying attention much to the media then. :mhihi: Because everyone knows that in any certain case, the female is always the victim.

Well of course Stern is untouchable now but the point should still be made.

How dare the NBA tear down the Lakers to support this racist?

This can't get any more interesting now......

The NAACP gave Sterling a "Lifetime Achievement" award in 09 and were going to give him another one.....

This is priceless...

Money and Power > what's right....... every time.

2009 they gave his the same award..... two lifetimes apparently. They gave it to him right in the middle of the Baylor fiasco as well.

NAACP has long ago ceased being a rights based organization.... now just a donation drop off organization..... which is why Don's being honored so much.

While Sterling's rant is disgusting, his was a piker compared to Gibson's epic (what to call it :what: ). Let's not forget as well in this Hall of Shame, Alec Baldwin's rant left on his daughter's answering machine. Sweet guys…..ALL.

i think the worst that the NBA can do to punish sterling is suspend him from day to day operations, much like MLB did with marge schott in the 90's for similar incidents to this one

it's not like they could force him to step down since it is his team after all

OK so I haven't been on my CPU in a couple of days but had to make a couple of comments here.

1. If he made the comments then he is an idiot plan and simple.

2. Doesn't matter if he made the comments the worst the NBA can do is fine him or maybe take a draft pick away (maybe). All the people running around the world screaming Freedom of Speech should be saying the same thing for this dude. The NBA can't force him to sell his company which means he cant be fired over a racist remark no matter how idiotic and desperate it is.

3. The idea that players are going to boycott the Clippers is foolish at best. OK so maybe some superstars like Kobe would stay away but the majority of players are going to come in get their check and cash it without pause. We would be foolish to pretend that this outrage isn't anything more than the 140-character worlds current battle it will be a mere "annoyance" in a few months. Sad state of affairs indeed but absolutely true.

4. I said earlier and I say again I am suspicious of the girl who only did this after being charged with taking 1.8 million bucks. Because we hate the Clippers and Sterling no one ask the question of could it be doctored? Seems like it is just like with athletes in rape allegations "guilty until proven innocent." Again I am not saying he didn't do it but I am saying the jury of public opinion is very quick to come in with guilty verdicts without facts.

5. All that being said Im glad people are shi***** on the Clippers cause its a crap organization.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Does anybody think that guys like Doc, CP3 and Griffin didn't know about Sterling's racist tendencies when they joined the organization?

The league can't do anything other than fine or suspend him, which amounts to nothing more than a slap on the wrist. Players will still sign with the team if they have no other better options. The only people who have the power in this scenario are the customers - the fans, us. We have a myriad list of entertainment options in this country and don't need to patronize teams owned by backward thinking, racist, a-holes. The only way to punish these guys is to hit them in their pocketbooks.
