Now, in stretches, I have arguably the best perimeter defense at the 1 and 2 that you can possibly have.

You mean the stretches when Nash is OFF the court and doing stretches for his bad back? :man12:

Hey, that Nash was insane! Such a competitor, and not a shabby shooter.

Absolutely. I'm just saying that if it's perimeter D you're after, he is going to be spending a lot of time on the bench.

IMO, Nash is top 3 greatest shooter of all time. I think the system Phoenix ran inflated his numbers and I will never agree with his MVP awards.

I just started reading "7 Seconds Or Less" and Nash's back was a MESS. Makes me wonder why the Lakers traded for him when that book had been out for a bit and detailed just how fragile he was. The Suns were constantly trying to find a middle ground between rest and back stiffness. If they played him for too much of the second half then he would be too tired to finish the game efficiently but if they subbed him out to get some rest before crunch time then his back would stiffen up and he wouldn't be nearly as dynamic. As a result they were something like 0-7 in games that were close in the final few minutes that season.

We took a risk and we lost with pretty much the worse case scenario.

Nash had a pretty good 2011-12 season, if we'd had that Nash and Dwight would've had his head on the team, then we would've been able to compete for everything. Sadly, what could go wrong, went wrong, and kept getting worse, ending with the Kobe injury, with Dwight having a double tech and us starting Darius Morris and Andrew Goudelock in a Playoffs game against the San Antonio Spurs.... Ugh.

Yup. And I'd do it all again too. Gotta roll the dice. Playing it safe is keeping Divac and letting Kobe go to Charlotte. Playing it safe is boring. Go big or go home. We crapped out, but I'd rather they go for it all.

Lakers will be back.

lol dwight pretty much got what he wanted and looked like a fool.

he wanted to lead the team, and led the team into a sweep. complaining about touches and being the number one option, became one and was no where to be found.

it was all what we went through the regular season missed free throws, stupid silly late passes that he turns over because he held it too long off the double team, gets stripped, bricks or entirely misses a jump hook, does his one post turn around jump hook and misses completely, and steps out to shoot a bank shot thinking his timmy D and bricking it.

it was all that but just much more since kobe and nash wasn't there to clean up his mistakes and put some points on the board.

In case Stockton gets in foul trouble against some of these other guards... I need another good point man to run the show. Maybe not the best on defense (I honestly have no idea), but let's go with Bob Cousy 1957 - first championship he won, and got his sole MVP that year.

My backup PG is someone most at CL don't like. I do. I love his confidence. I love his speed. I love his F you attitude. If you've noticed anything about my team, I'm big on speed and scoring. Run, run, run. 48 minutes of hell. My back-up PG is Russell Westbrook. In 2010-11 he posted 22 ppg and 8 assists. This is a guy still young who will have better seasons then the one I picked, but I'm confident he stacks up well with any PG not named Magic, Big O, Isiah, or Stockton. I saw him more then hold his own against CP3 in this years playoffs and his speed is too much for 99% of opposing players.

My backup center is a 4 time Defensive Player of the Year. The only person I saw guard Shaq one-on-one and survive. Big Ben Wallace. In 2002-03 he averaged 15 rebounds and 3 blocks per game. One of three players in league history to have more blocks then fouls. Not much of an offensive game, but with my scoring, I don't need it. He'll back up Wilt and get that ball off the boards and out to my speedsters.

Whether it's Wilt, Rodman, Pettit, or Big Ben, NO TEAM will be rebounding against my team. The speed I have at the guard position is too much for any team too (Isiah, Iverson, and now Westbrook). My SFs, Baylor and Gervin know a thing or two about scoring too. I know Gervin was "limited" on defense, but anyone getting past him isn't going far with my bigs. I hope your teams are ready to run!

I can't argue with that. My plan is for my shooters to not miss, because any missed shots your squad is going to gobble up.

The man to back up MJ will be Joe Dumars, 1989. Bad Boy Piston will bring instant toughness off the bench, will be able to defend any wing, and can shoot the ball (career high 48.3% from 3 that year). He also won his first championship that year as finals MVP. I won't need to run any plays for him, because once MJ comes out, Dominique, Havlicek, KG, Pau or Robinson can carry the load.

Ray Allen and Rice don't miss often. Pippen was capable of hitting big shots too.

The problem you have with Rice is the same one I have with Gervin -- allergic to defense.
