as a non-rockets fan, I enjoy that McHale will be back. the style of play he's chosen for them (basically ripping off MDA) is not a winning formula.

Houston is giving him another year, few Houstonians are now calling for his head, but most people here say it's his final year if they don't get to the WCF. I understand it, who would be another significantly better option, and he coached them to 54 wins, 4th most in their history. I agree with you, I don't think he's the guy, but he hasn't not been the guy yet you know, it'll take one more year for people to see it.

More fans were disappointed that Sampson took the U of H job. McHale's best assistant.

I feel gross for even reading about this. Ew.

Dwight is a dumb [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.]...plain and simple. Look to Doc's post for concrete evidence.

isn't he all super religious too? How does he justify having all these kids with different women, flying out underage girls, etc.

The guy is all brawn and no brains...on and off the court. So glad this joker isn't a Laker.

That article from BlackSportsOnline doesn't prove anything. I wouldn't be surprised if he did, but that's not enough to convince me.

Having said that, Karl Malone wants to know why D Howard likes em so old.

Joke...
Number of kids, under age girlfriends... Polygamy.

I had no idea he was religious..... Isn't humility and living a humble life part of that? I'd guess his handlers concocted that for endorsement deals..... The most selfish thing one can do is have kids outside the family environment.

A-ha, I thought so. Well played, lol.

You really had no idea how religious Dwight is? He brings up the name "God" a lot when he speaks. Didn't he say God gave him a sign when he saw people from Houston in Colorado )where he was rehabbing) when it came to signing with Houston. He sounded like a crazy person, IMO, but that's just me. Let me see if I can dig up that quote.

“It was on the Fourth of July,” Howard said. “That’s when I felt it was Houston. I was in Colorado. It seemed like every person that I met was from Houston. It was just so ironic. I’d walk around. Someone would ask for a picture. They’d give me a business card and it would say Houston on it. I was like, ‘Is everybody in Colorado from Houston right now?’ It was unbelievable.

“I was like, ‘You know what, this has to be from God.’ You pray for things to happen. You pray for signs, for God to show you things. It just seemed like, this was it.”

There you go. Seeing people from Houston in Colorado was Dwight's official sign from God to sign with Houston.

Since I don't watch any ESPN or much of any sports commentary I must have missed it. Now that I know it.... it makes it clear that he's full of BS.

....on top of it... his game is painful for me to watch... so much talent wasted by a weak work ethic. I can pretty much be sure I've never seen an interview with him other than some female sideline reporter asking the typical stupid question at half time.

I love to watch the game.... don't really care too much about the stuff that surrounds it.

Also, he doesn't know what irony is. Seeing people in Colorado from Houston ISN'T ironic...it's a coincidence, you big dope.

I like how this self absorbed clown thinks he is so important that God would give him signs on which multi-million contract to sign. Like there isn't more pressing **** in the world.

. Dwight Howard - F/C - Rockets
Dwight Howard said that he must change his "attitude" to help the Rockets take the next step toward a championship.
"For so long, I've been ridiculed for having fun on the floor, but I just think I've got to change my approach to certain things," Howard said. "How I am in the locker room, how I am in practice, all that stuff ... I can go out there and have fun and smile and get 25 points and 20 rebounds. But for our team to win, I can't have that approach." Howard averaged 18.3 points and 12.2 rebounds while playing in 71 games in his first season with Houston, though fantasy owners could have used more defensive production -- his 1.8 blocks and 0.8 steals were his lowest totals since 2005-06.

Oh watch out. NOW the big idiot wants to get serious. Here was Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest of all time, telling him to get serious and he wouldn't do it. Now he's going to have an epiphany all on his lonesome?

I don't think so.

LOL

have you guys heard this guy wants to play with Melo now?

you had kobe bryant who was having a career year, who was getting double digit assists at times when you were a laker because he was going out of his way to force feed you the ball because you were crying.

now you want Melo to come and play with you?

he does know that melo isn't going to play second fiddle to dwight nor is he going to give him as many passes as kobe did nor does he have that passing ability/play making ability anyways.

and he's much worse on defense (i wouldn't say lack of talent or IQ but he's just lazy and thinks himself as better than that, i mean its true, i love melo but i never likes his lack of interest and heart on defense)

This.

All bark, no bite. How many times has this guy spoke about having to improve this and that, and not doing a damn thing about it? He worked out with Hakeem but that appeared to be for show as he really didn't look much different after that. Took a picture with Kareem after the trade to LA and spoke about how excited he was to work with him, yet Kareem revealed he never even gave him a call.

And he resented Kobe's approach to the game and now he wants to act like he's so willing to adapt his philosophy? Please. :freak2:

Exactly. I'll guess he stops doing one or two things for a month or so, then jumps right back into his idiocy. He can't help but act like a fool because he can't hide what he is.

it's not shocking that he wants to play with melo

kobe is the last of his generation. an old school, hard nosed player who will do ANYTHING to win. melo, although a similar type of player to kobe, is part of this new generation of prima donnas who put media attention and having fun on the same tier as winning. so it's not a surprise that dwight struggled mightily playing alongside kobe but he's having the time of his life playing with harden and perhaps melo

remember that video of chris rock joking around next to kobe during the 2010 finals and kobe just sat there looking straight ahead with zero emotion. we all know if that was lebron or melo or dwight, they would have done something in response just so that video could have gone viral and received the media attention that this new generation craves so much
