Dwyane Wade Acknowledges Need To Improve 3-Point Shooting

Dwyane Wade has become one of the NBA's greatest all-time shooting guards, but he has never developed a reliable perimeter jumper.

Wade has attempted just 122 three-points over the past two seasons, converting on less than 30 percent of those tries. In a three-season span leading up to the 10-11 season, Wade attempted between 206 and 278 three-pointers.

“The only thing left for me to do is become Mike Miller and shoot a lot of threes,” said Wade when asked of adding to his game. Wade said he won't decide until the season if he will attempt to shoot more three-pointers.

If Wade is to extend his prime, he is widely expected to improve his three-point shooting.

With all his health issues the past several seasons it's in his best interest to develop a reliable 3 point shot. Especially with Lebron out there running the offense it's really something he should have worked on since Lebron joined the Heat.

Good luck with that. Defenses are absolutely loving this; D-Wade shooting more 3's than usual instead of driving and drawing fouls.

Different strokes for different folks - IMO, I think what we'll see from him can be similar results to those of Ariza in 2009 after he spent the summer working on his 3-point shooting. It'll be made more often than not, when he's wide open, but not when guarded.

If Wade is to extend his prime

Like slim said earlier, it's about 8 years too late.

Not just 3pt shooting.

He needs to improve his shooting, period. And he should have done it a long time ago.

Yep, if he becomes a 3-point chucker, it takes away from his effectiveness in the playoffs.

Shares the same mentality with Beasley. I remember Beasley being asked if he felt the need to expand his game and his reply was something along the lines of "Nah, until they can stop this shot/move".

Also, he doesn't "need" to improve his shooting, well, I sure hope he doesn't anyway.

Nah, just improve your flopping skills, and you will be fine... Why bother w/ 3's when you can get 85636 FTs/game?
