Dwyane Wade plans to sign another long-term deal with the Miami Heat.

Wade, along with LeBron James and Chris Bosh, is likely to opt-out after the 2013-14 season.

"I'm not going to deal with it," Wade said of the speculation that will envelop James. "I'm going to address it on media day and that'll be the last time I address it. But obviously it's a part of it."

Wade has spent all 10 of his NBA seasons in South Florida.

"Everyone knows where I want to be," he said. "That's what it's all about to me, is making sure we focus on this season, winning this championship.

"I want to be in Miami and I have nothing else to talk about. So there won't be no exciting news over here."

Hmm, if he continues to break down they may not want to sign him long term over Lebron, or to put next to LeBron. They may want to get a younger player to convince LeBron to stay.

If he opts out and tries to sign for similar money, he's handicapping the franchise and they won't win a single ring through this team any more.

:man10: Where else does anyone think he's going to sign? He's been pretty loyal to that franchise and instead of taking max money a few years ago he masterminded a 3 player signing for equal money in hopes to get rings..... which is working out pretty well.

They will take care of him and he will continue to accommodate them.

I don't think he's going anywhere else, I just think if he continues to break down by the time the playoffs come around he might need to take a pay cut to put a better team around him and LeBron. LeBron sure won't take a paycut this time IMO. I'm saying that IF it came down to keeping LeBron or Wade for whatever reason, pretty sure it would be LeBron, loyalty goes out the window to win.

^^I think he'd and LeBron would be willing to keep their salaries low in hopes of getting more good players. Why wouldn't they? If they did it once for a shot.... can't think of a reason why they would not do it again.

My point is that if Wade keeps breaking down for the playoffs and LeBron has to keep carrying the Heat, and the only way to get more help is for a paycut from Wade, I think the Heat might do what it takes to keep LeBron above all else. LeBron didn't come to Miami to carry a team almost like in Cleveland in the playoffs, Wade was probably supposed to be an equal, but the past few years he has had only so many big playoff games, thankfully for them some in the finals. If anything you're probably right though, Bosh will be the one to go first and that's how they'll get better.

^^I heard ya..... I'm just not thinking that if they did it once they wouldn't do it again if it meant more titles. Who knows they may let Bosh walk and do it again with another top FA that year.

I just don't think your reasoning for doing that changes after a couple chips...... especially when the off the court income is much larger than the salary difference because of the exposure of winning.....
