East 1st round (2) New York Knicks vs (7) Boston Celtics

^^I'm not a big fan of a couple Knicks.... Don't like Boston either...

That said... The Knicks are primarily a jump shooting team and outside of Dallas a couple years ago I'm not sure many teams that rely that much on the jumper get that deep in the playoffs. Relying on JR Smith night in and night out is another problem. If they had an inside presence (and no I'm not talking about Stat) that could put up some easy buckets while the "bombers" are cold it would go a long way to helping them balance things out. As it is they are not that good when the jumper isn't falling.

By the way , I'm surprised guys like Kidd and Chandler seemed a priori to agree with the wearing black clothes BS.

I thought they would put the clowns JR and Kenyon are in their place ...

By the way if the Knicks do end up losing this series (I can't see it, just saying if it happened), I put most of the blame on JR Smith. He's the same dumb player in the end it seems, can't keep his cool, elbows Terry, gets suspended, now the Celtics are showing life, trash talking, and the Knicks are biting. It's a shame, you'd think they'd be smarter. Especially with a guy like Kidd around, and especially because if they do lose this series, they make history in a really bad way.

Not only that but this is a team who has been irrelevant for a long time. The kind of arrogance they are showing is embarrassing.

If those clowns dressed up like they were going to a funeral they deserve to lose. How can you be so irrelevant for so many years and then act like you are better than everyone in the 1st round of the playoffs?

^^They tried to pull a Giants against the Patriots in SB42, but didn't work obviously....they need to stop the immature crap and act and play like they are ready to make a legitimate playoff run. New York and the fans deserve more.

The corrosive mix of K-Mart, JR and Melo is not conducive to a winning team..... it was tried once with a much stronger coaching influence. Toss Stat into the mix and it's even worse.... JR may be the 6th man of the year but I'd still not want him anywhere near the Lakers.... just doesn't get it....

That said, they should still be able to knock of the C's if they can regain their outside shooting touch.

I think NY will advance today.

Yup. Boston down by 20 at home at the beginning of 4. They are going fishing too.

...

edit: but wait, NY melting in the 4th quarter and now only leading by 6 with 4 minutes remaining. Unbelievable.

I think Melo killed them with the 3.

Nice little test passed for the Knicks. Also they most likely just buried this particular Celtics core for good. :jam2:

Still pretty underwhelmed by these playoffs overall, but there have been some moments. Kind of bizarre to witness two almost-epic collapses on consecutive nights though. Warriors and Knicks both just completely losing their composure and falling apart and nearly enabling an absurd turnaround.

Should the Knicks make it past the Pacers though, I can't see them bothering Miami in the slightest anymore. They're lacking in composure and execution spearheaded by JR Smith, notoriously awful at both of these things and Melo who at his absolute best can remind you of Kobe scoring-wise, but more often than not seems to come up short and/or take more effort to do less.

Agree, all this talk per-postseason of it being the worst playoffs cause of injuries and what not, has not taken away the level of basketball being played. It has been awesome to watch so far.

Was way too angry at the end there for a series clinching win....gotta fix that desperate ISO nonsense after moving the ball so well all game and Pablo needs to be in there to finish. Now, with that said.....

YES! :jam2:

In the end, I think this series did a lot for us. We had our highs, our lows, and our times where we had to buckle down and rise up. While I do not like how long we let the series go, I think it's better that we learn these lessons in the first round than have to face them later. Regardless, I'm so thrilled and really just relieved that we won this series. Now the Pacers on Sunday.....let's do it.

BTW had to add this for a forum favorite Jason "The Jet" Terry ;)

It'd been better if Shumpert did it in front of the Clipper bench, but whatever. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with Terry's shenanigans anymore this season.... plus the C's are gone! :jam2:

This series made me " appreciate" the Knicks a lot less ... too much showing off/talking from a bunch of players who hasn't won anything against a below average ( to be nice) Loston team ...

If I have to take one thing from this series , NY is no threat for Miami ...

PS : Melo 25 for 82 in the last 3 games :man10:
