Should we just merge this with the official thread? Seems logical to me.

This is gonna be a close series. Hopefully Melo's shoulder is alright. But this will go at least 6 games. But the Knicks will this one.

Man they better not lose to the Celtics, because that is a tough matchup for them, that is a team that is better than their seeding. NY is the only hope of taking out the Heat, and even then the chances are slim, but they cannot go out in the 1st round.

I feel the same way, the East has no threats to the Heat outside of the Knicks.
I think they'll take the Celtics in 5 or 6 though, so no worries

I think the Knicks should take this in 6....Chandler, Martin and possibly SHEED will ALL be back. I feel good about that. I don't wanna see the Celtics advance...they're no match for Miami...basically we need the Knicks to get to the ECF at all costs to give the HEAT a legitimate ECF. Plus I wanna see that Miami/NYK rivalry revived. So many great series in the late 90s and early part of 2000s

this. admittedly i haven't seen a ton of knicks games this year but i've seen enough. melo seems like he's taken that step up from all-star to superstar to me. i've seen him completely take over games on multiple occasions and i don't think the celtics can handle him even a little

The Knicks are built sort of similar to the Dallas 2011 team

You got Chandler, Kidd, a go to scorer up front in Melo, a whole bunch of 3 point shooters in the lineup and off the bench, guys who can D up multiple positions (Smith, Shumpert, Copeland) a PG who can take over for small stretches (Felton/Barea). They just need to stay healthy

Haha someone on the RealGM Knicks forum made it so I scooped it up.

Boston is gonna play with a little extra something with this horrible tragedy, but considering the first two games are in NYK, I don't think it wont make much of a difference. Maybe Game 3, but not much.

Knicks in Six. Cs don't have enough bodies to run at their 3 point shooters and Melo is going to get his.

With the way Melo has been playing it's hard to see how he won't single handedly sweep the Celtics really.

Yeah I chalk one or two up just because of Paul Pierce, he is a Knick killer. Today's Reggie Miller.

No Prigioni for Game 1, which sucks because him and Felton are our most effective backcourt, but other guys will have to step up. Good chance he can come back for Game 2.

Melo will officially play the way we know he can for a full first round series. Look for him to average close to 30 on 47% shooting. New York wins in a tough 6 game series.
