Go Knicks, IMO they're the only team in the East that have even a tiny chance of giving Miami a series

You know the series is bad when most of their games were only shown on NBATV. :man10:

Not a chance for NY to win this series. Indiana plays the best D in the league.

It is hard for me to see how New York can beat Indiana while playing Mike Woodson iso ball. They will steal a game due to hot 3 point shooting or JR/Melo shooting them into a game, but JR/Melo will definitely shoot them out of 4 of them.

Another ugly series ... iso ball against very solid/physical/hacking on every play D ...

Who wins this doesn't matter though since Miami is a lock to the Finals barring injuries

this series depends on pacers offense. U can be sure that they will play elite defense every game so if they can come up with decent offense in enough games they can win this series

We split the season series against Indiana, and if we play the way we played last game and have good ball movement and hard nose D then we have a great chance to win. I think people are taking too much from this Celtics series. Knicks had a lot of pressure on them to win the first series for NYK in over 10 years, and many of the players did not know how to act being up 3-0 and that showed. There are some immature moments but the way we responded in Game 6 was fabulous. I think we learned a lot from that series, and even though we let it go too far, we avoided all the talk of an epic meltdown and god the job done. Now, with this series behind us, I think the guys will play a lot more freely since that hurdle has come and passed.

The only thing I'm worried about, though, is Melo's left shoulder. He said in the post game conference that he dislocated it in Game 5 and had it popped back in, and then he hurt it again last game, as you could tell during that Boston comeback. No real time to rest it, he's going to have to battle through. But I think if we play offense like we did in Game 6, he can still be effective. We'll see, but I expect a great series, and honestly, another series win.
"Like I say to people all the time, I don’t care what Brooklyn do, I don’t care if they have a better record than we do this year, we still got “New York” on our chest. We’re still New York’s team, regardless of what Brooklyn do." - Ray Felton

Yes but I'm a Pacers fan and even I thought it was a boring series...

I hope this one is better but the same result :man1:

Great first half by the Pacers, Melo 5-13 continuing his career 41% shooting in the playoffs, 37% this year, and JR Smith 1-6 forcing too many shots. Felton is why the Knicks are in the game. Not to say Melo/Smith cannot get hot because they can, but as long as the Pacers continue to make the Knicks shoot contested jump shots they should be OK.

We'll see in the 2nd.

Most of the Pacers can't shoot against decent D ... I guess the Knicks want to make things more interesting by leaving them wide open ... more Felton , less Melo for the Knicks is needed too

i dont get it...why doesnt melo never get labeled as balhog...he shoots low % and he barely ever makes ast...

kobe when he was most attacked by media was still 5 times better and more willing passer...

its not that i wish it to melo...but never heard someone to complain about melo...if kobe was avering less than 3ast he would get killed by media...

Completely agree, guy gets knocked out of the 1st round what 7 or 8 times already :man4: . The year he was efficient he led his team to the WCF. Shoots way too many high difficult, low percentage shots, him and JR.

People were picking the Knicks I just don't know their reasoning behind it. Melo will not win you a championship, cannot sustain a long playoff run and his stats/history back up this statement.

On to the game though, Pacers look poised, playing fantastic team ball and team defense. They got to close the deal now, 4 mins left.

Knicks just can't win with shooting nights like this one from both Anthony and Smith.
Hibbert's presence is a problem, they need to figure out a way to be more effective on PnRs (floaters work VERY well against Hibbert. Too bad Melo doesn't like them apparently).

NY needs to get penetration, make the extra pass, and they need to hit open shots. Indiana will not give many easy opportunities, so you must capitalize on the ones you get.
NY's defense also needs adjustments.

Oh, and another terribly officiated game, adding to one of the worst officiated seasons I've watched. Great job NBA.

He was laughing at a call made because if you read what finwe just said, it was horribly officiated game. Let me put it this way.....if it was the Lakers instead of the Knicks, you would understand.

This. I'm honestly a little surprised at the posts in this tread. A lot of the shots Melo took were in the paint but couldn't get the foul, its an adjustment he's going to have to make against the big guys. It's a complete turnaround from the Celtics just two days ago. Just look at the rebounding numbers, and then look at Melo's rebounds....he's going hard at work on both sides. It's SO easy to trash Melo, but as a fan, I'm fine. He's taking shots that he made often during the season. Just aren't going in right now. Now in terms of JR....he needs to drive more and stop chucking. He started driving towards the end, but it was too little too late.

We are still very much in this series, and expect it to go long. This was the first time these guys played with a day of preparation.

I honestly don't mind who wins this one, but like I said I'd love to see Carmelo go against LeBron in the conference finals, that'll be such a great battle to watch.
