Lakers Likely To Turn To Gil If Trade For Sessions Isn't Mad

Lakers Likely To Turn To Gil If Trade For Ramon Sessions Isn't Made

Image

The pursuit of Gilbert Arenas by the Lakers appears to also be tied to a possible trade for Ramon Sessions.

Sources believe the Lakers can acquire Sessions for a first round pick.

If they are unable to acquire Sessions or a comprable player, the Lakers may then turn to Arenas.

I would go after both. Waive Darius Moriss. Bench Fisher, and allow for Sessions, and Gilbert (If producing) to handle the major minutes.

Sessions/Blake
Kobe/Gilbert/Goudelock
Metta/Barnes/Kobe
Pau/Murph
Bynum/Gasol/Mcbob
Sessions, Kobe, Metta, Gasol, Bynum

If we get Dwight we sign Arenas, if not we trade for Sessions. We'd be giving all our picks for Howard so we wouldn't be able to trade for Session and would sign Arenas. If we don't get Dwight we'll trade a pick for Sessions. It's all connected

We can't get Beasely and Sessions. Only one for the TPE and a pick.

Arenas and Sessions? Fisher isn't sitting no matter how many times Laker fans say he should. I don't agree with it either but you don't go to Fisher, with his resume, and say you aren't playing anymore because we got Sessions and/or Arenas.

That's been one of my issues with acquiring another guard if we aren't sending one out. It will force reduced minutes for either Blake or Goudelock. The likely looser will be Goudelock and I'd rather continue his development than get Sessions to play 12 to 15 minutes a game.... There's no way I'd give them a first round pick either. He's just not that good and picks to teams over the salary cap are like gold under the new CBA.... it's about the only way to get young talent anymore.

i truly believe if pau isn't traded that he gets traded in the draft for a lottery pick and expiring contract. with that lottery pick they bring in one of the elite guards like jeremy lamb or austin rivers. i truly believe they are gonna do that and its gonna piss off a ton of fans when it happens

Tonight's game against Dallas should send a message to the front office. Pau and Bynum won us that game, because at the end of the day two seven-footers is two seven-footers. We can add a solid piece without giving up any assets in Arenas, and then use our TPE and possibly draft picks to bring in an upgrade at small forward. Beasley? Williams? We're in a lockout season with a brand new coach, completely blowing up the team mid-year is just as likely to set us back as it is to help move us forward.

by monday night do you guys expect gilbert to be a Laker? I am gonna go with yes, mostly because I hope so. What you guys think?
Every time I begin to ask, "Is he really as great as I think he is?" ...He proves that he is.
Every time I begin to wonder...He proves it...That is why I won't lose hope in him.
You know who I am talking about.

Hard to say, things have been pretty quiet with Arenas as of late. On the other hand, there aren't a lot of other NBA teams that are going to take a chance on him, either because they already have a solid PG, enough scorers, or are more concerned with developing younger players. The Lakers and Arenas are a match made in heaven provided Arenas has something left and Kobe doesn't mind sharing the ball with him.

i would hope so, because even if he is not even close to what he used to be, he can still create off the dribble better than any point guard we have now, and is probably a better passer than any point guard we have now, and can be deadly from 3. We don't lose Pau or Bynum and we grab a solid contributor in Gilbert. I would really think this would be a low risk high reward pick-up, and possibly just the spark we need to get a deep run in the playoffs

I read an article on Arenas (not sure if it was posted here), and he said that the reason nobody signed him is because he didn't want to return to the NBA until he was fully ready with rehab and everything. He wanted to make sure that he was in his best shape. I'm not sure how true that is, but he can't be worse than Fisher.

Arenas on one leg is still better than Fish and 8 Miles combined. I don't think this can be argued at this point.

If we can get Sessions, great, if not just sign Arenas. I believe the guy has a lot to prove to everybody, which gives him all the reason in the world to play at 110% unlike he did at Orlando. Gaining Beasley would only improve the team more, so why not? Keep Gasol, please, the guy may be a soft [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. Also the chemistry he has with Bynum and Kobe is irreplaceable, and taking away our two-seven footers is pure [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.].

sigh..

if true, i dont get it.. cheap, has kobe's approval, has the coach's approval.. the benefits highly out weigh the risk.

So with 15 spots all taken up... only way Arenas comes here is via someone getting cut or more players traded.
