Griffin for Melo proposal mulled

Griffin for Melo proposal mulled

Postby Slurpee22 on Fri Jan 03, 2014 10:57 pm

With the looming possibility of Carmelo Anthony departing New York as a free agent this summer, New York Knicks officials have discussed proposing a trade for the Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin, according to league sources.

Sources say Clippers management has also had internal discussions about such a deal but that the clubs have not yet spoken to one another about a potential trade.

As of now, neither team is certain of whether it would make an Anthony-for-Griffin trade, the sources said.

Melo would be an upgrade to Griffin. He can post up much more effectively, and be a legit first or second option.

But but but he doesn't dunk as much...

Good deal for the Clippers IMO. Melo is the better player.

^^Not sure Paul and Melo can coexist. Most of Biff's touches come on breaks and lobs. Most of Melo's come at the expense of the rest of his team in iso situations. Paul has made Biff.... Melo is "self made" and would actually be worse on a team with a very ball dominant point. Iverson and he didn't exactly tear it up and Iverson was better overall than Paul in those days.

Melo is like 5 years older than Biff and I don't see a big enough upgrade to make up for losing 5 years of star player.

Neither will win a championship with their style of play, so its a lateral move at best.

Absolutely. But unless Stern force feeds money into Sterling's pockets again, I just don't see it. Sterling is making money hand over fist with Griffin. That's his boy, that's his money maker.

He's not going to trade him.

I agree. Biff is the face of Flop City. No way Scrooge trades him.

Biff needs to fire his agent. That Kia commercial is the strangest effeminate skit I've seen since the Ambiguously Gay Duo on late night.
