How Good Is Philly?

With the addition of Bynum how good will Philly be? I think they will be a top 4 seed. Miami and Boston are clearly better, but I could see them being #3.

Much better than they were. We'll have to see how Collins is going to use Andrew, but now at least they have a weapon that Boston, Chicago and Miami have no answer for. The Indiana matchup with Hibbert should be interesting.

top 4 in the east, and might be ready to do some damage in the playoffs.

Of the 4 teams in this trade they made the biggest jump IMHO..... As noted above.... they get a weapon that none of the other top teams have an answer for..... and a fairly deep, well balanced supporting cast. If they gel it could be interesting.....

They'll be anywhere from good to very good.

I hope they'll be alright for Bynum's sake.

Bynum's team but it's going to come down to Holiday and Turner. Can they become all star level players? If so, then they are very good. Even with no improvement from last season, they are still number 4-5 in the east.

They're much better than .500 in the East. Their success will depend on Drew's health though.

I just saw their roster again, lots of perimeter depth

They were 35-31 last year Thats barely better than .500 in a lockout shortened season, if they got to play more West teams they'd be under .500

Hey if they can be over .500 and be a really solid team, more power to them, I prefer they give Miami a run for their money but I dont anticipate it happening

They're not better than Boston and Miami; however their a 3rd seed. A boat load of wing players and now an inside presence with a very good coach who will know how to utilize the talent he acquired. I'll let you know right now if Bynum can develop his game along with those wings, they can be dangerous...

That's last year. JRich and Bynum weren't on that team.

And their competition has gotten better too. Celtics improved, Nets improved, Pacers improved, Knicks improved. Obviously Philly made the biggest acquisitions but so many young players, Im not sure if their skill sets match each other.

They basically look like a watered down version of the Pacers.

The thing is, yes Bynum gives them a weapon against the likes of Miami, Boston, etc, but Iggy was very valuable to them for the same thing only on the defensive end. Now who's gonna guard LeBron, Dorrell Wright? Who checks Wade, Nick Young / JRich? That has disaster written all over it.
They'll have a better regular season record, but against a team like Miami I still think they are done in 5, maybe 4. Though they could beat a team like the Pacers and maybe even the Celtics if Bynum gets into BEAST mode. But Miami kills them.

Seriously, after the Lakers, Philly got the best deal. Basically giving up AI for Bynum and a still serviceable JRich. I would say they are going to be in the top 4 now in the East behind Heat, Celtics, and Pacers. They can't beat Heat. Celtics is getting older, so in the next 2 years that team is going to implode. Pacers are falling apart after Bird leaves. But I think they could have been higher but they amnestied Brand, and Brand was a big part of their success last year IMO.

If Philly has good coaching, which they do, I think they will do quite well because they have really nice guards. Lou Williams and Drew Holiday...those are 2 nice guards to have, and can shoot....so they can't double down on Bynum. Right there, they should be killing most teams.

I will be following them closely this season. Hoping they can pull an upset in the playoffs.

Heat,Celtics,pacers,nets and maybe even the bulls will do better. I say 5 if they are lucky. They lost williams/meek/iggy and brand. Bynum won't fix everything.

They can go as high as 3 or as low as 7. I still got Heat, Celtics, Pacers, Knicks and maybe the Nets ahead of them. But i think we know what Drew is gonna bring to them, the question is how much better will Turner and Holiday be next season? Turner really turned it up (pun intended) towards the end of last year. I think he's going to have a break out year now that Iggy is gone. But then again, they loaded up on the wings, and the other 3 guys (J-Rich, Wright and Young) all fit better next to Bynum cuz they can all shoot 3s. It'll be interesting to see what lineups they come up with. Spencer Hawes either moves to the 4 or goes to the bench as a back up 5...if they got Bynum/Hawes/Kwame, that's probably one of the best center rotations in the league. Their 4 spot has Thad/L.Allen, not as strong, but they are good fits next to Bynum. I like their team a lot, and I Hope they do well, as I hope Drew does well. I think he'll have a big year though....i'm gonna predict he'll have better numbers than Dwight next year...something like 23/13/2.

I don't see the Knicks being the 8th seed again, I believe they'll be in the top five. The Bulls on the other hand will have a tough time without Rose, and I see the 76ers as a better team.
