Hunter and Davis for Mills?

Hunter and Davis for Mills?

Postby JSM on Mon Sep 08, 2003 2:08 pm

According to the Detroit News the Pistons and Mavs have been talking about possibly sending Lindsey Hunter and Hubert Davis to Dallas Chris Mills, who the Mavs have been trying to get rid of. The deal might also include Atkins and Bell.

This would make sense for Dallas since they lost NVE, it would give them a couple of back ups for Nash; and it would give them back the shooter who used to play for them-Davis.

This would be bad for us, because it would take the free agent who was most likely to sign with us, if we were to sign anyone else, off the market.

That would just make Detroit's defense even stronger.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

BEST VIDEO EVER ... AND AND THE SECOND BEST.

It will not include Atkins and Bell. Mark my word.

It will be....

Mills for Hunter & Davis

I think that would be stupid for Dallas. That would mean they would have Nash, Hunter, and Best all at the PG postion, and they are all use to the starting role. :disagree:

If this deal comes through the Mavs will have to be guaranteed this deal 100% or they're not gonna sign Bell. If Bell is re-signed by the Mavs in the next couple days then the deal is pretty much final. If he's notthen that would mean Bell doesn't want to do it.

That would mean no Raja Bell to the Lakers.

Don't mind me, but I don't get why people are so into the Raja Bell thing. He's not going to make a major impact on our team, and he's a point guard. We already have DFish.

What would Raja Bell bring to the table, that we are currently lacking? The only thing I think we need right now would be either: a true backup center, or a solid and consistent SF (though I'm satisfied with DG at SF), or a backup SG just in case the KObe thing doesn't go down well.

Other than that ... we're good at PG and PF. Why the excitement over Raja Bell!?

Raja Bell - like Rick Fox...a defensive specialist who can score on put backs or wide open shots. We really don't need an offensive machine since we have Shaq, Kobe, Malone and Payton already demanding the ball and taking up a huge scoring bulk of the total offense. We just need a defensive minded SG/SF. You stated Lakerfan that that is what we need besides a true center. With Kobe likely to be out for some time and Fox coming back late in the season, he would be a great pickup cause he can play both spots and doesn't need the ball to be effective. So there you have it....Raja Bell would be a great pick up....we don't necessarily need him, but I do understand why people are making a big deal over him.

With Lindsey Hunter with Dallas, then they're gonna have three adequate PGs--Travis Best is good, that'll just decrease his PT his Hunter comes to boot. Don't forget, all only play one position, and the Mavs don't really need a guy like Lindsey, unless for money reasons. I totally can't see why Lindssey has been traded like hell this entire season. Is he worth it? Not too many teams like his playing style, lest his injury-prone mannetr. He's attractive as a shooter, but in everything else he's whack. Steve Nash would do better to provide the scoring than Lindsey. If Atkins is included, oh my god, Dallas don't need no more PGs--this trade is out of sync--I see no point in doing this. Hubert Davis is just another three-point specialist. The Mavs don't need him. May as well waive Chris Mills, but once again, Donnie Nelson is too blind enough to do that. Detroit has no advantage in getting cancerous Chris Mills and Raja Bell. Dallas is done with trades; so are the Pistons. Haven't they had enough already? Both teams seem satisfied and are ready for the upcoming season.

In other words, THIS TRADE HAS ABSOLUTELY NO POINT AT ALL

Guys, all Dallas wants to do is get rid of Mills huge contract...thats all. If this trade goes through...we can even see Hunter or Davis waived by Dallas. They probably will hold on to one, so that if Best is not a great backup they can go ahead of him to back up Nash. But this trade would be bizarre. They would be the New York Knicks of guards.

Joe Dumars says this trade has been pulled off the table. And that they aren't trading anyone.
