Isiah Thomas Lakers ast. coach?

Isiah Thomas Lakers ast. coach?

Let's put Thomas under the hood in our Laker bus. It's not like any team wants him anyways, and personally I think that he would be a valuable asset to our short list of assistant coaches. Brian Shaw should be added too, maybe as a scout or something. For now I would like Isiah to come with us and get groomed with the triangle by Tex and Phil. I know he was part of the groupies of the Pistons in the '80s and all, but still he can prove to be a great assistant coach if Phil misses some games. All I want him to do is not to mishandle our players and treat them with the proper care and playing time.

Isiah is known for being harsh and a jerk to his players, plus he doesn't know the triangle offsense, Phil only hires [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. Tex Winter invented the triangle offsense, next year will be Tex's last year coaching, he's been coaching for the past 60 years.

Anyway, after next season they will need an assistant coach, They likely nominees like you said probably would be Brian Shaw, or Ron Harper. You remeber when Harper visited with the Lakers for a week last year? Tex was expected to retire last year so maybe he was visiting with Phil.

Byron Scott would get hired before Isiah Thomas. I think there's too much bad blood between Thomas and the Lakers. But if they were to hire another coach it would be someone with great knowledge of the offense, i.e: Harper, Shaw, H.Grant, Jordan, Pippen, Kerr.

No, We don't want Thomas. We should hire Shaw and Harp as assistant coaches. We should let harp be an assistant, because he has stated that he is bored, and he was with us for a week last year, so he could come on and help us out. He is knowledgeable about the triangle and is liked by Phil.

And we should hire Shaw ot of respect and loyalty. Plus players turned assistant coaches has recently seemed to work pretty well, and they are usually liked by the players. And they could help develop the young guys, kind of like what the Wizards and Rockets did with Ewing. He is an assistant coach for them, but helps out the big guys and helps them with what they need to work on in practice.

We need someone to teach the upincoming guards/forwards that we have like Rush, Pargo, George, Walton, Cook. Who better then the Guard/Forward legend himself, Ron Harper. Harper's a pro at the triangle offense and was always a fantastic defender, great friends with Phil Jackson. Same with Brian Shaw.

I love Ron Harper, he is the man, he needs to be apart of this Lakers staff somehow.

And then in a couple years from now, when MJ decides he can't stay away from the NBA, again. He can come in as another assistant coach/mentor/player specialist/advisor. He could really help Kobe, because he would listen to MJ, and respect what he has to say to him.

Does someone have a crush on Zeke or something?

The hell do we need Zeke on our bench for? Whats wrong with our current assistant coaches? Hows Zeke gonna improve the team?

You think we're Dallas or something? We're not gonna waste money on 12 assistant coaches. Personally, I thought it was a good move by the Bird to fire Zeke. I never thought he was a good head coach in the first place. Just like Bird and Magic, they never ever paid their dues to become head coaches. Just because you're a good player doesn't mean you're a good head coach right away. You gotta intern like Byron Scott and learn what ins and outs of being a head coach. Anyhow, get over your infatuation with Zeke or go be a Pacers or Pistons fan.

Someone has to replace Phil in 3 years. Maybe Byron Scott, Jordan, or PAT RILEY!

I like your Jordan idea, that'd be awesome.

This thread just keeps getting dumber and dumber.
First Zeke and now MJ.

MJ's ego will not let him be a no name assistant/mentor/player specialist/advisor.

We don't need any special assistants with big names. We got enough vets on the team if anyone on the Lakers need babysitting!
