He hasn't been worth the investment. He's missed chunks of every year with injury or illness. He's played poorly two years. He had a hot streak and then got hurt again. Metta more worth the money. If Odom signs, I wouldn't be against flipping Hill and Blake for a SF

Blake is a better amnesty victim than Metta.

Blake has missed chunks of games. He missed the start of the playoffs and end of year under Phil with chicken pox, then missed two months the next year, then missed basically half the year, finally played well, and got hurt in the playoffs.

Least they know Metta will suit up every night.

Blake and Hill for Ariza would be good too

Also, predictions on how long before nastalgia wears off and people are calling for ____ to take his minutes? I'll give him a 5 game grace period to see if he's magically grown up and is no longer the self serving douche he was before. Not holding my breath though.

When he was selfish douche we had talent around him that deserved the ball more...

Now we don't. :man10:

At least not until Kobe comes back. We actually need him to continue to be a LITTLE selfish.

there is no way nate would take a one year deal. and i'm pretty sure someone will give him more than the vet min....considering what other scrubs have been getting.

Awesome.. He's a good fit for us at PG.. More athletic than Nash or Blake & can get to the rim & finish.. Not afraid to ignore Kobe calling for the ball. Has chemistry with Kobe & Pau.. Hopefully LO is the next domino to fall. Followed by atleast 2 SF's.

he does have the benefit of people having pretty much zero expectations for this team. any wins will end up being a delightful surprise, any losses and it will just be par for the course. i might be legitimately crazy but if we get lamar and sasha as well, i think we can do a little better than people think. LAL has just been mired in misery for the past year. i for one will enjoy even a momentary revival of the laker spirit.

Hill is way too important to this team. As of now, he's our starting SF.

I know MWP saves twice as much as Blake, but Metta is the only SF on the roster plus he can slide to the 4 at times.

Ideally, we could trade Blake and Meeks for Ariza (who expires this off-season) then we can amnesty Metta.

I'd like to see us target Tyrus Thomas as well. Young guy with energy and athletic. Never lived to his draft position, but IMO still can play a role on a team.

Man you really don't like Farmar. :man10: He tripped on his own foot, it happens, I guess a season of Morris isn't enough to make everyone appreciate Farmar a little more. I'll gladly take him here, this is a lost season before it starts, and Farmar was pretty good with the Nets after he left us. Let's not forget we won 2 titles with him as our backup PG, he's not that bad. He wasn't exactly the typical triangle PG either, I'd think he'll look a little better in a more traditional system as well.

Tyrus Thomas is one of the worst players in the league, and his basketball IQ is nonexistent.

He is really, really bad now. No thank you.

Lets not judge him by how he played in his early 20s in the triangle offense. The kid can play and has some athleticism

I don't know about trading for Ariza, why would we amnesty Metta to trade for a SF that makes the same amount as him?

trade Blake to Utah for Rush......Utah just lost Foye as well and they're in need of a solid backup PG and we are in need of an athletic swing man. Rush is cheaper but is coming of a season ending knee surgery but contract also expires, worth a risk.

S this mean Sasha is coming?

I mean they haven't been separated for long ever. They were Lakers together, Nets together, and started in Instanbul together

okay so we get him.... What are we going to do with morris and Blake? I can see Blake becoming a starting SG or back up SG. Reason? Well Mike love Blake. And I don't blame him. He played really well... HE just can't stay flipping HEALTHY!!

Because we'd be trading Blake and Meeks salary for Ariza then amensty-ing MWP so in essence we can save the $30M and turn Blake and Meeks into a SF which we'd no longer have after cutting Ron Ron.

The logic is based on not needing Blake and the opportunity to sign Sasha or Bell or Jackson, etc.

I misread your post, thought you suggested Blake and Hill for Ariza, which I would not do. Blake and Meeks, sign me up.

Hill is NOT our starting SF, he's a back up PF/C.

Also TT is one of the dumbest players in the league, no thx.

Not a bad signing; I like it. Gives us youth, energy, and a good change of pace guard to pair up with Nash...
