The Maloof family is finalizing the sale of the Kings to a group that would relocate the team to Seattle next season, Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting.

As much as I hate the Kings, what the Maloofs did the to the city of Sacramento is just awful. The Kings have a surprisingly massive fan base in the greater Sacramento area(as they are the only pro team around). Sacramento can definitely support an NBA franchise, but it was the idiot Maloof brothers who mismanaged their inheritance, and the Kings franchise. Did they really think the fans were going to stick around for the Cousins and Tyreke show?

Thank gawd. I'm glad they're not coming to Anaheim.

I hope they do go to Seattle, I don't want them here in Anaheim. I won't lie, there will also be some satisfaction in those Sacto fans and their cowbells losing their team.

Will they stay the Kings or use the Supersonics.

the people of seattle really do deserve a team after their beloved sonics were robbed from them by that a-hole clay bennett

great fanbase they have up there

hopefully what happens is that they change the team name to the seattle supersonics, and retain all their history and records (depending on what the deal was when they moved to OKC) i don't think it's right that the thunder were able to keep the sonics records and history. i HATE when i hear stuff like "last season was the thunder's first finals appearance since 1996." just not right

Good for Seattle. That's great for that city. Now they have to keep their attendance up, trade away their garbage players, build through the draft, and make a legitimate team.

If this deal goes through, I think it's even more incentive to blow the team up. I don't see how a team built around Cousins and Evans will ever work. The benefit is both of them are still very young and you should be able to get plenty of draft picks and other prospects to rebuild quickly.

It's hard to deny the benefits of having "high character" players on your team ala Spurs and Thunder.

Great news if it goes down. I don't want the Queens in Anaheim, and Seattle deserves a team.

The Kings support up here is NOTHING like it used to be. In fact, most people are sick and tired of being dicked around and just want them to leave. There are still pockets of rabid Kings fans, but not nearly as many as,say, 10 years ago....people have been jumping off the wagon for years.

the only thing those remaining kings fans have left to hang onto is how their title was taken away by the refs in '02

I don't really know how Seattle deserves a team any more than the Kings do. They were bottom of the barrel in attendance towards the end just like the Kings(after their damn owners ran their respective franchises into the ground). I hate the Kings as much as everyone else, but the Maloof's did Sactown dirty. One thing people from L.A. don't realize is how much support in the greater Sacramento area the Kings actually have.

Personally, I hate the musical chair game we've been seeing over the last few years.

What title? They have to make the finals before they can say that!

I would bet that the new taxes in CA, both on businesses and salaries had a little to do with this. Washington State has no income tax. For a player who is eligible for a max salary that's a difference of a couple million dollars in their pocket..... for Owners it's even more.

at least the magoofs have made it clear that they want out of sacramento

clay bennett just came in and robbed seattle of the sonics after numerous promises that he would never move the team

great to see the sonics will be back. i feel for the people of sacramento that they had two incompetent owners in the magoofs who ruined the team and eventually lost it for the city but i'm also happy for the people of seattle that they will be getting a team after they were robbed of the original sonics

i'm hearing rc buford and larry bird are being sought after to run the team

With the #1 pick in the NBA draft, the Seattle Supersonics select......

We all know who is going to get the #1 pick now.

Since this is basically official ...

How much is this going to haunt that city?

Wonderful news. The city of Seattle really deserve it, the way that owner shafted them. There is a huge fanbase there. I am glad they will have a team again. Now, if we can just get Donald Sterling to please move the Clippers to Anaheim, we'd be all set.
