No need to worry about the Knicks ... this organization is more dysfunctional than ours ... no way Love would choose NYK over the Lakers ...

It's strange that the situation between NY and LA is so similar.

In a lot of ways Melo/Love seem connected to me. It's funny that Carmelo/Love means either New York or Los Angeles right now when we don't have EITHER player.

What's REALLY funny is that the gist of the article points out that New York always says "give us a year and we'll give you a ring!" and yet no ring is ever forthcoming. Just more failure year after year after year. The Lakers say "trust us" and most people jump at that opportunity, Howard being the exception.

I know most people don't want Anthony, but THIS is one reason why I do. Is the Laker brand as strong as we all believe it is? Have the PLAYERS lost faith in us? Or did one player alone have a problem that couldn't be solved in LA? Carmelo isn't perfect, but he's an elite scorer and with the right pieces could be successful. Love is one of those pieces. He's a UCLA graduate, a superstar in the making, and Heaven knows he'd make a great Laker. So are we the Knicks now? Are we a team that promises success, but misses it? Or is our legacy something greater than that?

I think if we can get Carmelo Anthony this summer it points to us being able to acquire someone like Love in the future. It points to us having a plan to win and a plan to put together a team that's built to win.

Kevin Love will be a Laker...he's not going to NY or staying in Minnesota. NY is from the top down as an organization is ran horribly. From Dolan, to the GM, to the players, to the personnel, that team is a mess. As for Minnesota, their 'Finals' is making to the PO's. Even in the Lakers current state: Jeanie and Jim at each other throat, a lame-duck head-coach, a franchise seemingly looking for direction, I still trust our chances better than the Knicks or the Wolves...

I like Love but he's not a franchise player. He's a player that will cost as much as one however.

He's a great second to a franchise player.

I know the front office is horrified at the thought of playing without a marketable face so my biggest fear is that we will recycle through here player after player just to put butts in seats rather than build strategically the next contender over time.

Without a real leader/franchise player Love gets us no closer to our next title IMHO. Combining he and Melo is not a linear mathematical progression either. Two "not franchise players" doesn't equal one franchise player.

The CBA will really help Minn in this one IMHO. An oft injured player that's biggest issue is durability.... that extra Max year will weigh in this one a lot. It will take a trade to get him IMO.

I agree ... let's not forget he hasn't played a playoff game in his career yet .... tough to envision what kind of impact he can have on a great team ... his overall D looks below average at best to me
