Knicks want Rondo

Rajon Rondo - G - Celtics

Frank Isola of the NY Daily News writes that Rajon Rondo is "the [Knicks'] primary target" in any trade involving Iman Shumpert.

According to Isola, "The Knicks have been trying to trade Shumpert, Raymond Felton and Amar'e Stoudemire in a complicated deal for Rondo but the rebuilding Celtics [have] yet to show much interest." This has all the marks of a one-sided trade discussion, with New York shopping spare parts for a franchise-caliber PG, but we'll keep an eye out for updates all the same.

Why would Boston do this? Fat ray, Amare (who hasn't played real ball in 3 years), and Iman shumpert who I think is overrated.
Every time I begin to ask, "Is he really as great as I think he is?" ...He proves that he is.
Every time I begin to wonder...He proves it...That is why I won't lose hope in him.
You know who I am talking about.

I'm sure the Celtics who are in a rebuild want to take on 23 milion and 4 million in 2014-2015.

It's about time we offer up Pau/Blake and let them tank and open up space.

This just makes perfect sense, but I think Boston might view Pau as someone that can help win a couple of games and pass.

NY want's everyone it seems.

They have some assets to trade for him..... we have the largest expiring tradable player in the history of the NBA....

I mean I don't think it's likely a trade that the Celtics go for, but definitely it makes a hell of a lot more sense than whatever New York is trying to do. :man10:

i think if NYK throws in a first round pick, this trade might actually go down.

Amare would be a large expiring K they could surely trade this summer, and remember they still have Gerald Wallace and Jeff Green on the books, so it doesn't matter if they pay Amare an extra year... Ray Felton will not impact their cap too much, Shumpert is their young player with promise, and the 2015 first round pick sweetens the deal. I believe the C's will have an ungodly amount of picks over the next few years thanks to all the deals (esp from stupid Brooklyn).

Knicks does not have a 1st round pick in 2014 ( and 2016).

Rondo only would be traded for pick(s) and Young asset(s) ( and Boston getting rid of one of his bad contracts).

Not many teams could/would be willing to offer this

IF rondo is actually moved, i'm wagering it won't be for the likes of asik, shumpert, and all these other guys being thrown out there.

:man10: Is NY for real? Nobody wants their trash. Shumpert is overrated, and coming off of multiple knee surgeries. He's a good defensive player when healthy, and that's about all he is. IMO Boston wants nothing to due with Shumpert anyways, as Avery Bradley is basically the same player.

And don't get me started on Amare. He has both the worst contract in the league, he's also a locker room cancer and a huge distraction. Nobody is taking on that contract.
