Kobe got robbed twice....

Kobe got robbed twice....

Postby Not Guilty on Sun Feb 15, 2004 8:56 pm

First on the 3, then on the co-MVP. He basically won the game with a clutch steal and 3 while shooting 9-12 with 4 assists, 5 steals and 4 boards. I guess the NBA doesn't want to promote him...

No, Shaq deserved the MVP...

But Kobe was THE MAN tonight as well...

Hell, who would have thought we would be arguing the MVP between our VERY OWN Shaq and Kobe...

This is the turnaround point in the season my friends.

How did Shaq have a better game?

Shaq - 24 pts, 11 boards, 1 assist on 12-19
Kobe - 20(1)pts, 4 boards, 4 assists and 5 steals on 9-12 (3-4 from 3) and a clutch steal and "tying" 3pter

It should have been co-MVP. The NBA just didn't want to showcase Kobe. I can't blame them though...

Kobe and Shaq just did what they always do, Shaq powers the team to the finish line and Kobe adds that burst at the last leg to make sure they win the race. They have done it in every finals and Shaq has always won the MVP so why should it be different?

No Shaq deserved MVP he had a more dominant performance at all-star game nobody was about to even attempt to stop Shaq downlow..HE could have easily had more than 24 points..Kobe had a good game but, Shaq deserved it

They both deserved MVP. But Shaq deserved it more. He had 24 points, in 24 minutes.. You can't beat that. :man12: But.. Kobe was excellent. I'm just glad that both Kobe and Shaq made L.A. proud and really represented their hometown. :jam2:

the only reason why Kobe was not the coMVP is because of his legal problems, NBA does not want to promote him.

nah bro, kobe hit some clutch shpots at the end like that one shot that shuda been a 3, but they counted a 2

he had key defensive stops and hit big shots on offense when the west needed em

kobe also had crazy fg percentagge he was like 9 outta 12 or osmethin which is 75 percent shoooting

he also has one of the highest averages in ALL star history, i think it shoulkda been a CO mvp for sure

Stat wise both Kobe and Shaq should've gottten the MVP. But popularity wise, shaq was the man. He hosted and partied much much more than Kobe. That's why the other players made it a conscious effort to let shaq score...and that would be players on both teams.
