Is it that we're lucky or that the rest of the West has spent their energy during the wrong time of the year.
Time and time again, teams make huge runs mid-season(aka the Spurs winning the title during the shortened lock-out year) when it matters least. Come the playoffs they run out of energy and the team that has budgeted their energy and timed their winning wins the big prize.
Just another benfite of veteran players. They know when to play hard and when to take it easy and save strength for when it matters most.
You're just seeing the beginning of the run that will take the Lakers through the playoffs. Every close game this time of year teaches you something and game by game the Lakers are rounding back into form. So next year when you're a Laker fan (as if you aren't already) T-Wolves, you can buy another jersey to go with your collection of bandwagoning jersies that I'm sure are gathering dust in your closet as you close in on your 300th post on a LAKER fan site.
