I'd say giving Morris a guaranteed contract on July 2 was a mistake as well.

Luke Walton is to Phil Jackson as Darius Morris is to Mike Brown... :mad1: :bang:

I really liked CDR.

Too bad about CDR. That seemed a little shortsighted considering he was the one guy off the bench who actually had the NBA level ability to score. He was having a better preseason than the guys we gave contracts to.

Wow...I'm surprised ..I thought he was somewhat of a lock based on the other scrubs on the bench

Gerald Green 2.0? I think we will regret cutting CDR...especially for Gouelock, Morris or DJO.
The End is nigh. Time for a total Cut and Shuffle. Kobe contract was a mistake...time to avoid making more. The future is here, whether we want it to be or not. An era is over, but for the death rattle, and it's time for the cycle to begin anew. Growth and change are scary and painful, but alas...nothing worth achieving comes easily.

Is there a way/plan to trade Blake and Morris for scraps, and then pick up CDR from the D-League or something? Maybe it's a business move to save money, but then again it's probably wishful thinking.

I'm sure if there was Mitch would have done it, but hopefully there's something ahead.

If it makes anyone feel better, at least we cut Someguy-i whose only highlight in my mind was airballing a 5-footer. It can only help us, right? :man11:

As long as he has a guaranteeing contract we can't touch Morris, and we can't trade him till Dec 15th.

At the time Lakers had no choice because we had no depth there because we were about to lose Sessions, and Blake was the only PG signed on the roster. So do the math.

That's too bad. I really like CDR. But I never understand Mike Brown and his rotations. We need good athletes off the bench and that can play D.

The Mavericks have signed Chris Douglas-Roberts to a non-guaranteed contract.
CDR's stay might be very short considering the Mavs now have 18 players on their roster and will need to cut three players by Monday. He has the talent to stick on an NBA team's bench, whether it's in Dallas or somewhere else.
