Lamar Odom Discussion: Waived, not up to NBA standard (38)

I disagree Roo....while he was on the Lakers, dude had all the temptation in the world to develop a fix, but didn't. A happy LO is a sober LO.

If he can prove that all the antics have come to an end, dude can still contribute as a NBA player IMHO.

Whoa..... Odom is more done that Pau and Nash put together. Add in a habit and mental instability and you have the mix for an epic meltdown.

This is not the Lamar that used to play here.....

I read he's planning on playing the 2nd half of the season and is using this time to get his mind and body right for that time. If we are in the playoff hunt, I'd rather have LO than Williams. Not even to play, but someone that has been there before.

If by that time we are out of the race and looking at draft position, then I would 100% pass on him.

^^Why keep going the veteran route? Time to break with the past and move on. Williams has not been good one bit but getting Lamar doesn't solve anything IMO.

As for Lamar just being here.... I think Nash and Pau have been given huge passes because of their past.... not their present. Why would MDA treat Odom differently?

If he was really smoking crack.... you don't just decided to stop that stuff and rarely if ever does a reversal happen without a complete crash. Whitney Houston anyone?.....

If we're going to develop people why not Kelly? He's actually a stretch 4 and he'd be playing in a system designed for stretch 4's. Seems like a fit to me.

Riiigghhht. Starting to get himself in shape now. And with what he has done the past 2 seasons before he even went self destructo, was take at least a half of the season to play himself into "good" shape. Hell yeah he ought to be ready by tip off of next year. :disagree:

Yeah I don't think any team is going to be signing him this season. Unless he really surprises people and looks really good during workouts, which I think is unlikely. I do hope he gets his life together because it would be sad thing if this is how he goes out.

Lamar Odom - F - Clippers

The Clippers could be close to signing Lamar Odom, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
According to the report, the players on the team are under the impression that Odom will be signed. He had a rough offseason with alleged drug use and being charged with a DUI, so it's a little surprising the Clippers would bring him on.

Lamar Odom is in home stretch of making his returning to the NBA.

The 33-year-old athlete is in final negotations that would bring him back to the Los Angeles Clippers, where he spent the 2012-2013 NBA season, a source reveals exclusively to E! News. Odom was also originally selected by the Clips with the fourth overall pick in the 1999 NBA Draft.

The source said that Khloé Kardashian Odom's husband met with head coach Doc Rivers and Clippers GM Gary Sacks on Friday, Nov. 15 and said the deal was "done."

I'm not sure on this one. Odom doing serious drugs, driving under the influence and now in a position to get more money. Something tells me this isn't going to end well for him.

Yeah look like he's going to Clippers and said that the Clippers are the only team he would sign with, but nevertheless I just feel like the Lakers never have much interest in resigning him back, I didn't think we really ever offered a deal to him.

I wish him does well with Clippers though. :man11:

I feel bad for Lamar in a way, but have lost a lot of respect for him as well.

Have terrible things happened to him? Yes. Does this justify his behavior? Not at all.

He should be ashamed and embarrassed of himself. What a free fall his life has taken. Sad, but i'm starting to not feel sympathetic for him anymore.

LAMAR ODOM
STRIKES PLEA DEAL IN DUI CASE
12/9/2013 11:31 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF
BREAKING NEWS
1209_lamar_odom_tmz
Lamar Odom just cut a deal in his DUI case -- agreeing to plead "no contest" to the crime and in exchange he'll be on probation for the next 3 years ... TMZ has learned.

We broke the story ... Odom was arrested in L.A. on August 30 at 3:25 AM after cops saw him driving too slow on the 101 Freeway. He flunked field sobriety tests and refused to submit to a blood alcohol test. He was ultimately charged with one count of DUI.

But today, Lamar struck a deal with prosecutors ... and in addition to 3 years of probation, he's required to complete an alcohol education class by June 9.

He's also been ordered to pay $1,814 in fines and fees.

Odom's driver's license was automatically suspended for one year for refusing to submit to the BAC test -- and that punishment will stand.

3 years probation, eh?

Better keep your nose clean, Odom. One slip up and you're in big trouble.

So LO still remains to be an (unlikely) option for the Lakers...

Clips about to add Capt. Jax...

Dan Woike: Stephen Jackson has not signed with the Clippers, but he's expected to sign and join the team in Boston, per source.

Anyone see Stephen A on Arsenio tonight? Arsenio asked about Odom and Stephen A said, "I'm not gonna comment on the gay rumors. It's none of my business" and then went on to say that Odom outside of LA won't work, but if he stays in LA, he can be a good player.

Khloe filing for divorce.

Hope LO is okay, especially a guy of his emotional sensitivity and current state, I can see this going VERY badly. I understand he may have cheated on her, but he's in a VERY bad place right now and needs family around him, something he truly embraces. He had his issues with his father, losing family and a baby, just hope the RIGHT friends get to him before the trash (like the on in the video) do.
