Larry Johnson Wants An All Black League

Larry Johnson Wants An All Black League

...nothing like more ignorance

Knicks executive and former player Larry Johnson had a decidedly different but still strong reaction to the racially insensitive remarks Clippers owner Donald Sterling is alleged to have made.

On Saturday night, Johnson tweeted: “Black people your Focusing on the wrong thing. We should be focusing on having our own, Own team own League! To For Self!!’’

The initial indication was Johnson was calling for an all-African-American league complete with black ownership. It wasn’t the first time Johnson, who is black, concerned himself with the fact the NBA’s ownership is mostly white while its players are mostly black.

Nothing wrong with that, unless a white person wanted an all-white league.

Their was talk of this during the lockout 2 years ago when players were putting together those all-star games in various arena's. From what I remember, they simply didn't have the $ or infrastructure and it would take a long time to build that up.

And this is the opposite side of the spectrum as Sterling.

Both sides are wrong, but people like Larry Johnson have more of a reason to be angry.

So…. If I appear 100% Black (i'm fairly dark….. :man1: ) but am 50% white (Irish…. pretty white) would I be allowed?

Is it true genetic Blacks only or is it by appearance? I'm as white as our President yet he's Black in every description I've ever seen….. I mean I'm not really a "light skinned" negro but I can speak without the Negro dialect….. Do I make the cut? :man10:

Seriously…. Barnes said all that needs to be said……

This I don't understand completely. is it because Sterling disparaged Blacks? If so should a person from Iowa feel just as slighted when a bunch of people in LA or NY call them "fly over hillbillies"? Should white people in WV be offended when TV commentators call them ignorant based on nothing but their geographic location? Should I be offended because I've been called a "Idaho Idiot" in PM's here for some of my comments?

This feigned "offense" has no limits. Everyone will rush to the defense of certain groups when they are disparaged but in the process disparage others and/or have no concern if other groups are called out by stereotypes.

Larry Johnson has no right to be angry what so ever. I'm Black (1/2) and I'm not one bit offended personally by these ignorant and stupid comments. I see them as more "Elitist" than racist anyway. This is more about what Sterling's friends think and as long as it's a business man Black guy (Magic) it's OK.

This comment is just as stupid….. well check that… it's worse. It's separating the people further and doesn't solve anything. It's really a plea for relevance again.
