Lebron wins MVP award

As much as I loathe his flopping CP360 deserved this award. The LBJ hype was just flat-out ridiculous.

Kobe and Shaq MVP awards =2
Steve Nash=2, never went to the Finals , my grandmother plays better D than him
Lebron =3, never scored 25 in 10 Finals games while averaging 28pts in his postseason career

He deserved it this year as much as anyone else, but to me it's still a meaningless award as its voted on by the media. Not trying to hate, I just don't really think MVPs matter much on a players' career resume.

Dwain Price‏@DwainPrice

How is it that Kobe Bryant has one MVP and Bron-Bron has three? Can somebody please show up in the last two minutes? Upside down. #durant

Kobe should have at least one more, but again, media voted award, sometimes turns into a popularity contest, so Nash has one IMO that belongs to Kobe because people love Nash.

Some say it wasn't close. I thought it certainly was with KD having the year he had. But Bron led his team in all categories, is the more versatile player and carried the team when Wade went down.

Now Bronnie, go get your ring.

my vote would have gone to cp or even tony parker. durant and lebron both have a ton of help, and each team could win a fair amount without their top guy. i'm going to enjoy watching the media try to give it to wade next year, though.

Wait has LeBron never scored 25 in all his 10 Finals games? Is that really true? holy crap
Every time I begin to ask, "Is he really as great as I think he is?" ...He proves that he is.
Every time I begin to wonder...He proves it...That is why I won't lose hope in him.
You know who I am talking about.

He scored 25 twice vs. the Spurs. That's about it

Reasons I would not have given Lebron the vote:
A) The Heat have the fourth best record in the league
B) Lebron took a more commanding role on the team and The Heat have a worse record this year than last year, would very likely have been even worse if it was a full season.
C) His stats this season are virtually identical to last season other than moderate increase in shooting efficiency mostly because he takes fewer threes
D) He has the most help he's ever had in his career
E) He still has a major fourth quarter bugaboo
F) My opinion, but I strongly suspect he plays for his stats in a way most players do not(other than journeyman guys who need to keep a certain line to help with scoring contracts) This is not easily quantifiable, and a subject of my own biases, but it is hard to explain when he will sometimes only shoot the ball once or twice in a fourth quarter even if his team is down.

Reasons I would have:
A) He has improved his jumper and defense considerably, both sticking points for him historically.
B) He is one of the only guys in the league who can legitimately play any position on the floor defensively and offensively.
C) You could drop him in on any team in the league and see an instant improvement all around
D) he'd likely turn any team other than the bobcats into a playoffs team.
E) He _does_ have very impressive numbers
F) No one else really plays at his level overall. You can make arguments for several other players based on how the award has been handed out in the past, but realistically, there just kind of isn't anyone else to give it to in terms of the complete package.

Why do the media get to vote for MVP anyways? In football (soccer), the best player is voted by teams captains and coaches. That's the way it should be for the MVP.

How is that a knock on LeBron? His stats were amazing last year too. So because he couldn't raise his amazing stats to god-like levels, you wouldn't give it to him? That makes no sense. Which MVP candidate actually dramatically increased his stats anyway?

Meanwhile, in less minutes, LeBron increased his ppg, rpg, spg, and bpg. He's shooting better at the rim, 3-9 feet, 10-15 feet, and 3s. That's not virtually identical.

So because his stats saw a SLIGHT bump across the board, all of a sudden he deserves the MVP award whereas last year he didn't? Please. The only reason James didn't win MVP last year is because the media decided to vilify him for teaming up with Wade and Bosh in Miami, but now that the drama surrounding "The Decision" has blown over, it's ok to overhype LeBron again and here come the meaningless accolades. The award has been a joke for years, but what makes this one even worse is the fact that the media didn't even try to hide the fact that James has been removed from the blacklist he was placed on last season.

No, my point is that you can't knock LeBron because he didn't go from 27.3 PER to something crazy like a 35 PER. He already had the best stats. How is it fair to knock him for maintaining that (or improving)?

I'm also pretty sure I had LeBron over Derrick Rose as MVP last season. I don't remember if I had LeBron winning it, but I sure as hell didn't have Rose winning it (or Rose above LeBron). This year's MVP is correct. Last year's wasn't.

One thing I've noticed is that most Laker fans have no problem giving other star players praise, but I never see the same amongst other fan players as consistent as we are. But people swear we're arrogant and douchey. Thought I'm sure in the past it was Magic Johnson vs. MJ. I still think the MVP award THIS SEASON could have went either way no one rally dramatically outshined anyone at least amongst the top 3. LeBron is more popular amongst the NBA fanbase, as well as Durant etc.

Howard probably should have won MVP last season.
