Thank you Luke for that lob pass to Shaq during game 2 of the '04 Finals. It was my favourite play from that overtime period.

i'm gonna miss luke on the lakers. not as a play maker or anything like that but just as a team glue guy. he got along with everyone and i think he did wonders for the chemistry in the locker room. injuries hobbled his career - great court vision and awareness and he saw the game in a unique way. i know alot of people are making fun of him and what not but just remember, mangement agreed to pay him that much knowing there would be a chance of injury. its unfortunate and frustrating to see him make so much while contributing nothing on the court, but that happens a fair amount in the NBA. hopefully he can come back to the lakers in some sort of scouting role in the future

Thanks for leaving. He was a good guy and a good teammate, but one of the biggest wastes of a roster space in the entire NBA. Sorry you had to move so far away from RJ. He lived the American dream and now has to go to NBA hell.

If Phil was still there, Luke'd get playing time and find a way to get hurt just before trade deadline.

Thank you Mike for taking care of Luke's health !

Some final comedic relief from Luke Walton. Here are some funny quotes from another board about Luke's arrival in Cleveland: LOL

Can Luke Walton finally realize his potentional now that he's out of Kobe's shadow?
All these years on the Lakers Luke never really got his chance, he was never granted the opportunity to shoot 20+ times a night, they never let him take control of the offense. Most people believe that Kobe felt insecure and often begged Phil Jackson to keep Waltons minutes limited in order to make him look like a terrible player. Honestly if Cleveland builds around Irving/Walton I think they could be a playoff team by next year.

As far as stats go I think Walton could put up 25/8/5/ in around 40mpg.

luke can easily surpass lebron with the given touches, theres no doubt in my mind he can avg a triple double with at least 25 ppg

lukesanity coming your way.

maybe not GOAT but rite now I have him at 25.

If he could play at least fifteen games and average 3+ assist in doing so, i'll bump him up to top ten at least.

He is a more durable, thus genetically superior direct descendant of NBA legend Bill Walton. Welcome to the NBA's "Luke Walton Era".

white lebron in cleveland
expect him to go for 30/10/10 every night

Clearly Luke was held back by Kobe all these years we have a late frontrunner for MVP folks!

"There's Luke Walton......then there's the rest of us"

Luke Walton >>> God >> Jesus > Mankind

back to reality:

Luke sucks so bad he would've struggled to make a 1950's team

IT HAS BEGUN

Luke might suit up in the next Cavs game. Finally the Cavs get a replacement for LeBron at SF :man11:

The greatest thing about this whole trade is that Dan Gilbert was the one who wrote that absurd email trying to rooster block us from getting Chris Paul. After all that whining and complaining, he ends up giving us a decent point guard and we give him Luke Walton's contract. Are we sure Mitch or Jim Buss didn't tie him up and put a gun to his head and force him to sign?
