Magic believes the Kings will win it all this year, and stated it proudly.

Yes, the same Magic that used to bleed purple and gold, and that is one of the Vice Presidents of our organization.

I hope Magic gets a full helping of staredown from Diesel after every monster cram during the series.

More motivation, the Lakers love it when they further become the underdogs, if you don't understand me, yes i said underdogs.

To me he will always be "MAGIC". But after this comment I might have to refer to him as "TRAGIC" Johnson. What is he talking about. First, he wants to be GM of the Knicks. Then, he wants to be coach of the Blazers. Then, he wants to purchase the Sonics. Now, he thinks that the QUEENS will win it all.

The QUEENS doesn't look to good in their first game of the playoffs against Utah. So, I don't know if Magic's prediction will come true.

I just have this feeling that Magic is jealous of the fame and admiration that Kobe, Shaq, and this Laker crew are getting. I have this feeling from watching his numerous TV appearances that he doesn't want this LAKER group to beat his record of 5 champioships. Sorry, TRAGIC. Kobe will probably pull atleast 10 championship before his reign is over. And I mean ATLEAST, since there is a possibilty of more. 15 is a reality for KOBE. He's young enough!!!!!

I wouldn't take what Magic Johnson says that Kings will win it all. He is just trying to get these guys pumped up and it worked. I remember watching him on TNT when he said that. He looked straight in the camera and proclaimed Kings will win it all (ironically, before the 2nd game of the regular season & Lakers first visit to Arco after Game 7 of WCF). All that is a hoax so the guys will want to prove Magic wrong. He knows what makes Kobe tick...he thrives competing under pressure!!! I almost sound like a Lakers fan

Well, it doesn't bother me. If everyone rooted for the Lakers, they would have never been able to 3-peat. And I support everyones desicion that don't want the Lakers to win. Because, I like to gather up as much as I here, write about it, and tell it how it is through my head.

If Phil Jackson said it, I might believe it. Magic isn't a manipulator, but he is a winner. In my opinion if he said something it was because he believed it and he want's to be right. He doesn't like to be wrong because that equates to losing.

In hearing (again) the quote, I think it is possible that he was taking the opportunity to give props to Sac management group for bringing in more talent, unlike the Lakers. It appears that Magic has no real responsibility with the team and has no imput into personnel decisions. Clearly a situation that he is not content with.

If memory serves me well, Magic is supposedly having a sitdown with Buss and Mitch after this season to redefine his role in the organization.

I think he's being an a-hole to prove a point. We don't like it, but I think it serves a greater purpose for him.

the only reason Magic said that stuff was to hype the playoffs. he gets paid to hype stuff up on TNT. thats his job. if he said the lakers would win again, do you think anyone would bother watching the playoffs? they do this to keep it exciting and keep the ratings high. my personal opinion: quat-row.

That's dirty... But hey, we as fans do care about what Magic says cuz he was and will be one of the greats. But do the players care? His words will just add fuel to their pilot just like the rest of the words the media has to say.

In his role as an analyst for TNT, he is supposed to give his unbiased prediction and on paper, the Kings look the best, and that's why Magic said what he said. He is not paid to say what he feels in his heart, and we all know that in his heart, he wants and probably knows the Lakers will make it 4 straight.

After all the championships and joy he helped bring to LA, one little quote is far from enough to turn me against the Magic man!

Magic, Magic, Magic.... It really doesn't matter what team he "assumes" will win it all. He's just a commentator like everyone else on the media... Us as fans know different... Even if he's tryin to hype them all, I think our Lakers will be aight without this ignorant comment...

You also have to consider the fact that Kobe idolized Magic when he was a kid, so hearing his favorite player say that he won't win the championship this year, whether Magic intended it to be so or not, WILL serve to motivate him to dominate every playoff game, and he is off to a hell of a start...

Magic has no idea what to do with himself now that his playing daze are over. His show was a total flop and a joke. He brings nothing to the TNT show. He cant be content unless the spotlight is shining on him.
