Marc Gasol suffers MCL Tear - Out Indefinitely

@3Shadesofblue 4h

Rumors are swirling Marc Gasol has a Grade 2 MCL tear and will be out 10 weeks.

@FlyerGrizBlog 7h

Zach Randolph told Tim Duncan coming out of that timeout that Marc Gasol might've torn his MCL. Hope Z-Bo's not a good doctor.

If true, it's basically the same injury Bynum had in 2009, except without the contact apparently.

11-23-13 UPDATE

@sam_amick

Grizzlies center Marc Gasol, I'm told, has a Grade 2 MCL sprain. No surgery required. Out indefiniitely.

Nah, there's contact with the butt / lower leveraged part of the body of the guy he was guarding. Just a quick bump backward but into Marc's knee and a quick hyper extension sideways it looks like. :bang:

That hurts...10 weeks, wow. Is this his first serious knee injury? Obviously so important to what that team does on both ends; it's going to be interesting to see how Memphis responds; I still think they make the PO's, but the chances of landing one of those top 4 seeds went out the window, IMO

Miami has been blessed with no major injuries during their run. The teams with the best chances of challenging them, other than the Spurs (I'm referring to teams like the Bulls, Grizz, OKC) have all been snake bit last year and now this year.

I fully expect to find out sometime soon that Roy Hibbert or Paul George are out for the season.

I read it was a Grade 2 sprain.
